United Cah Sevices contacted me at work and on my cell phone saying that I had taken out a loan online and that I owed them around $700. The man had my social security number and my bank account info. When I asked for something in writing to be sent through the mail, he told me that he would only send this to my attorney. He threatened to get me fired from my job as well. I haven't taken a loan out with this company and this is a huge scam. The smart collect collection agency promised us it would collect our unpaid rent from up to 4 renter, for a flat price of $119.00. We paid the fee and submitted information about 3 tenants. I received a call from CRA agent John Gibson on Nov. 30, 2010 stating that I owed a credit card bill from 2002. The credit card had been sent to an address in Oregon that I had never lived at. I suppose major appliances are bound to fail at one time or another. When they do, you would expect the manufacturer to repair them in a timely manner and stand behind their warranty and abide by applicable law.
