Dell W706MC 37 in. HDTV LCD Television
DLH January 15, 2009
We bought a Dell LCD TV just over 2 years ago. Just as the warranty expired, the picture started going black and white. The colour comes back sometimes, but there's no predicting when. When we bought the TV we were told how LCDs last a long time - which they do, when made properly. Now we learn that Dell no longer produces TVs themselves because the ones they were selling when we bought were such garbage - made of parts from more than one type of TV! Technical support can't help -we've tried what they told us to do - and... read full review »

Isn't this interesting. I open my new issue of Reader's Digest to find enclosed an entry to go to www.rd.ca/gps and to HURRY, the draw closes February 28, 2009, to find this does not exist. I am extremely disappointed as I have found Reader's Digest to be accountable and a reliable source of information. Is my trust misplaced?? Would someone please reply as to the context of this contest and whether other contests from Reader's Digest can be trusted! read full review »

Toshiba M800
Brenda h January 15, 2009
I purchased a Toshiba Portege M800 on 11/12/08 I didnot take it out of the box until Jan 1'09. On 10/01/09 the harddrive crashed. When I took it into Best Buy they said they would run a diagnostic check and someone would call me back and let me know what the outcome was. Two days later I called and was on hold for 45 minutes. I finally called their head office who put me through to an associate at the store who told me my laptop needed repair. DUH!!! I said this was unacceptable, that the product was obviously defective and needed to... read full review »

They sent a fake cashier's check for 3900 and said to deposit it in bank and then call. Don't think so. And that they tried to contact me on a certain day NO THEY DIDN'T. And for security reasons keep this from public. BIG RED FLAG! These people are a joke when you try to call the number they left it keeps saying those people are busy assisting others try back later BULL! Aeroplan Customer Care
Kevin January 14, 2009
Aeroplan Customer Care (1-800-361-5373) is the most abysmal help line I have ever encountered. Apart from the inane voice-response system to start with, there is an interminable wait for an agent with arcane music playing all the time, and no indication of how long it's going to be. After 30 minutes the line went click, and I started again. I suggest anyone collecting airmiles start using a different airline where there is some modicum of service. read full review »

My complaint concerns FALSE ADVERTISING and the waste of paper and my time. I received a card with my latest subscription stating that if I log in to www.besthealthmag.ca/surprise that "A FREE SURPRISE GIFT IS WAITING FOR YOU!" I finally decided to take the time to check out what the "free surprise gift" was just for fun. I am hardened to the concept that anyone, especially company's in the business of making money really care to give away anything without trying to get something in return. Ordered OTC medicine online from CanadaDrugs - enough for 3 months. CanadaDrugs called me at work the following day to notify me that they could only ship 12 pills rather than the 140 I ordered - unless I could sent them a Doctor's prescription. Now, I know there are some people out there that use OTC medication illegally, and I can respect the drug company for wanting to "cut crime", but don't do it at my expense. My life is pretty full and I don't need CanadaDrugs wasting my time on 12 dam pills. Get your medication... read full review »

Mastercraft Maximum Battery
John S. Ward January 14, 2009
At Christmas time a few years back my wife bought three sets of Mastercraft Maximum 14.4 Volt Impact Drill Sets, one for myself, and one each for two sons. Each set has had little useage and are, however, now required as we are starting to build a summer home this coming spring. We find now that the batteries will not retain a charge and upon checking at the Canadina Tire Store in North Vancouver, B.C. Canada, we find that Mastercraft are no longer making the battery type #54-3088 and no other battery will fit the drills or the chargers. We... read full review »

I am a employee of the City of Red Deer. During the month of November and some days in December the company named Safeguard Safety was working on a project at the waste treatment plant. They were working on some sort of aluminum posts on the major roofs which was supposed to stop people from falling. There was one worker who was the one in charge. He did the major installments. They had another guy who would do all the ground work and cutting. They left to go home mid November and left a huge mess, I had to clean it all up. The room wa... read full review »

You people who made good reports must be working for the company! They are slackest, most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Just try and get some customer service after your order has been placed - it's next to impossible. You cannot speak to a live person. I asked for the simplest change in an order and it was like I asked them to split the atom. The guy who was supposed to call me back called me back after hours of trying to reach him and was obnoxious and rude. Never will I use these guys again! I will go with Tidy Flowers next time. read full review »

I am totally disgusted at this scam.. My husband was on a website, and this pop-up came up (husband said it didn't look like a regular pop-up as we have pop-up blocker) and asked him to scan for viruses.. This is not unusual as we have an antivirus program that asks us periodically to run a scan. My husband clicked on "scan now" thinking he was doing nothing wrong. All of a sudden, there were red folders in the task bar, and things kept popping up saying that I had 27 viruses, and named them in order, and showed different issue... read full review »

BMWowner January 10, 2009
BMW dealers pride themselves on their great service. I drove from out of town ... in the snow and my flat tire monitor lit up. Called the dealership and they told me they do not have service for BMWs on Saturdays. Since it was a snowstorm and I was far from home, I asked if I could have my tires checked. They laughed and hung up. Very poor service. I guess they figured I was not from the town and so they did not care about me or my vehicle. I have family that lives in that town and they told me that there are many stories of corruption, dishonesty, etc. from this dealership. It starts at the top with the owner. read full review »

Worse experience ever!! Don't bother complaining to the manager because he'll just brush you off. No point complaining to BBB, because whats the point. They ran a so called contest on a website, but when you inquire when and where the contest is to be held - they don't know, coz the person that was suppose to run it has quit!!! Aside from that, you print out a coupon (worth $750.00) that is emailed to you after registering - but they won't honor it coz the person that ran the contest is no longer there. DON'T BOTHER EMAILING THE OWNER TO COMPLAIN...he won't even respond! read full review »

On December 4, 2008, I answered an e-mail request from Google to try their Moneytree Kit. I gave my credit card information for the postage charge which came to Can$5.04. I never received the "Kit", a CD with no paperwork or instructions, until January 6, 2009. My credit card statement shows a charge for Can$92.44 on my January statement. The charge is for the Google Moneytree Kit. I never gave Google permission to charge my credit card for that amount. Google claims that when I agreed to receive the kit, I also agreed to be charged the US$72.21, when in fact all I agreed to was to pay for the postage. This is as sick as it gets! read full review »

Yardworks 9A Snow Thrower 60-3982-0
Peter Kneer January 8, 2009
01 Dec I bought a Yardworks Electric Snow Thrower at the local Canadian Tire Store in Moose Jaw. It is the 9A version, item number 60-3982-0. After using it three times the plastic impeller broke as well as one of the guide vanes. The temperature that morning was minus 28 Celsius. Figuring that maybe this product was not build for those temperatures I attempted to return the snow thrower to Canadian Tire 21 Dec. I was informed that a return could just be accepted within the first 7 days, every follow on issue would need to be addressed through... read full review »

UPS Store on Cambie near 18th likes to convey impression that they are just like the post office, so when you ask them to weigh something for postage, they put it on a meterless scale and add a hefty premium to whatever Canada Post would charge. You then pay them, and likely you would leave it as that as they tell you they will take care of it. Little do you know that they then take the package or envelope to a metered scale and apply postage sticker that is a lot lower than you just paid.
