Went to checkout November 28, 2009 @ 9:18pm to purchase 12-pack soda sale 4/$10 which applied to the following brands of soda: 7Up, Sunkist, A&W, Canada Dry or Hawaiin Punch. I placed on the counter 1-sunkist, 1-7-Up, 2-Canada Dry Gingerale. The worker Ankita wanted to charge me the regular store price of $5.49 per box.
I showed her the paper circular which had the soda brands part of the sale. The worker stated to me that gingerale is not Canada Dry. I had to show the worker the writing on the box of the soda, when she tested the cash register scanner it automatically showed the discounted price on the screen. I am requesting that the store give better orientation to workers and especially those of the non-english speaking culture. Either there is a language barrier or literacy issue or lack of employee training and prep especially for holiday store discounts. I"m glad to be an informed consumer when I shop for discounts. I understand that stores are having sales troubles but it can become costly in the future to have many employees not trained well on the products being sold. The consumer expects the workers to know about the products they sell. No consumer wants to be over-charged.
Thank you,
