STAY AWAY FROM 2-10 HOME WARRANTY!
They always find a way to find why they should not pay for a claim. I have many examples, last is from yesterday. My toilet leaked, so I needed to replace wax. They dispatched plumber who did it in 10 minutes and charged me the usual $50 co-pay. Later he calls telling me that 2-10 unwilling to pay since it requires "supreme" contract. He charged me additional $148 for this job. I called 2-10 supervisor, asking her if it sound reasonable to her that I'm paying their warranty fee + $50 + $148 for the plumber since they claim not covered? she tells me something like "this is life". I promissed her that not only they lost me permanently as their custome, but I'll also make sure to let my friends know, publish in Facebook, Twitter, etc.
This is counter America, bully behaviour, and they deserve to get out of business.

fraud
Bought house 4 months ago with warranty. Hot water broke. 2-10 home Warranty Sent contractor took $100.00. Called back 5 days later saying it was going to cost more because the water heater would need new pipe soldered on. Of course to replace you will have to change it out, but it will cost me more??? I am a %100 Disabled Veteran USAF p&t, so I am banged up bad. They offered a $400.00 buyout, which means little because I cannot move it on $400 Crooks, rip offs

Failure to Provide Service in a Timely Manner
This complaint againt 2-10 Home Warranty Company is for the following reasons: failure to enlist reliable sub-contractors to perform maintenance repairs in a timely manner; failure of 2-10 warranty's employers to do what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it; and failure of the company to provide "hassle-free" services promised under the contracted warranty.
Nearly two weeks ago my heat pump malfunctioned. I called 2-10 warranty and filed a claim for repair service. As of today, 11-12-2010, I have made over 30 calls to the company because the repair companies 2-10 contracts with have either failed to show or have not contacted me. One one occassion, a contractor called and scheduled to be at home between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. I took vacation hours to be home and the company never showed nor called. 2-10 warranty company dispatched three other companies and still no indication of when/or if there are any plans to repair my system.
Additional calls to 2-10 Warranty Company have turned out to be fruitless. On 11/11/2010, I spoke with Sangy who was to look into the matter and call back within the hour of me calling him. That never happened. I called again on 11/11/2010 and spoke with a George Cox who also failed to called me back. On 11/12/2010 I spoke with Vanessa who went to look at the notes, put me on a "brief" hold, only to have someone named Danny pick up resulting in my having to explain the entire situation again.
I have been a customer with 2-10 Warranty for five years. I have paid them my hard-earned money and this fiascal has ruined any chance of them renewing me as a customer.
Lastly, my heat is still out. I have called a company on my own and will not have to pay out of pocket to get the repairs done.
My recommendation: 2-10 Warranty Company is not efficient in selecting reliable, professional sub-contractors to do the work paid for, therefore, you are better off saving your money and paying out of pocket.

Waste of time and money
After being a customer for years, I recently canceled our policy . . . . This is the email that I sent to cancel (If you are wondering, they could not cancel our coverage over the phone):
We have been a customer for a number of years and were disappointed with the way that our recent issue was handled and communicated. Our microwave began arcing and catching fire so we called 2-10 to report the issue
After opening a claim, a representative from Buyrite Appliances contacted us to schedule an appointment. He came out the next day, we paid him $50, he looked at the microwave and said that it needed to be replaced. We then asked him what we should expect as the next step. He said that he would submit the paperwork recommending replacement and that 2-10 would contact us within the next couple of days.
2-10 failed to contacted us, so we called back to see what the next step was. The repairman never submitted any paperwork and the 2-10 agent had to call Buyrite Appliance to obtain the paperwork. We were then told that we didn't have the "right type" of coverage to cover replacement of the microwave. We have never been offered a different type of coverage and thought that we were covered for any type of appliance malfunction.
So we paid the repairman $50 and have been paying 2-10 over $50 per month for quite sometime and now shopping for microwave that we felt should have been covered.
Did you really lose a loyal customer over a $200 microwave? Yes you have.

Shady Contractors
STAY AWAY FROM 2-10 HOME WARRANTY!
When we first bought our home, the sellers paid for the first year of the home warranty and they chose 2-10 Home Warranty. The first year, we didn't have a need to submit a claim. So when the renewal came due, we just renewed it for another year. Now we received another renewal notice for the third year. The price of the warranty increase by $100 and the deductible increase by another $25. The coverage remained the same. We decided not to renew this time and decided to submit claims for some things now before our contract ended.
One issue was a bearing going out in the dryer. Contractor comes out and says, yes it's a bearing. Writes a receipt for the $75 deductible we paid him and says he will order the part. Never orders the part. A little digging by us and the contractor has no business address or business phone. He just uses a cell phone. We try to contact him about coming back out, but his voicemail is full and won't accept any more messages! He took our $75 and hasn't done a single bit of work. You would think that 2-10 Home Warranty would be a little more selective on who they allow to contract with them!

2-10 Scammers
July 18, 2009
Misleading Customers
This company has become one of the many businesses trying to scam consumers in the middle of a recession. For many years their home warranty "standard option" covered nearly everything. When its time to renew your warranty, their customer service reps hound you with repeated calls trying to get you to renew. They tell you that "EVERYTHING IS STILL THE SAME." Without notifying customers, in 2009, 2-10 made HUGE changes to their standard warranty. Their standard warranty now covers small parts of an appliance, and they now added a Supreme Option, which costs more money, to cover other parts of the same appliance. So now, you appliance will not be fully covered. Only parts of your applicance will be covered under one plan, and other parts will be covered under another plan, which costs more!! You will not find this out until you file a claim (they still won't tell you about the change), send out a contractor to collect your 50 dollar deductible, and then tell you the part is not covered under the plan, and that the only way the part is covered is under some new plan which costs MORE!!! THEY WILL GET CAUGHT IN THEIR GREED AND GO DOWN JUST LIKE THE REST OF THESE BANKS AND BUSINESSES THAT HAVE SCAMMED CONSUMERS. DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS FILE COMPLAINTS AND SUE!!!

Dishwasher not replaced
I am very frustrated with the company's service! It took more than a month before 2-10 decided to replace my dishwasher. They gave me the option of buy-out for $570 or getting a GE-brand dishwasher, which I thought would be a better option so I chose the GE-brand dishwasher. But the person I talked to misunderstood my option! After 10 days of not hearing from them, I called to follow up only to learn that they were not sending me a dishwasher; instead they were sending me a check for $570 (which, in hindsight, would have been a better option!). I had to return the check and wait for another 5 days for the dishwasher to arrive. Instead of having GE company install the applicance (which did not make sense to me), 2-10 had to send their contractor to install it. So, the person installed it and the dishwasher electrical wiring blew up! He did not check that the old dishwasher was hooked up to a 240-voltage, while the new dishwasher is on a 110-voltage. I would think that it would be standard protocol for someone installing an appliance to check the wiring and electrical voltage before any appliance could be hooked up. Now, 2-10 said it is not the contractor's fault and therefore they have no responsibility to replace the dishwasher; 2-10 said I should have told them about the voltage. My argument is that 2-10 would have researched about the old dishwasher (Indesit brand) to find a comparable dishwasher as a replacement, and their research should have prompted them to at least ask me the voltage! All they asked me was a picture of the dishwasher! You would think that they would cover all the necessary details given the business they are in! As a buyer of a 20-year old house, it did not occur to me to pay attention to the voltage of appliances (which I learn to do now) but I still could not accept that a technician installing something would not check first, as a safety precaution, the voltage.

Save your self hours and hours of frustration and disappointment
Failure to live up to contract and or professionally resolve dispute.
Dishwasher, broke - called company sent a subcontractor out.
Contractor said it was un repairable.
2-10 states that I not them have to go thru the kitchen-aide because kitchen aide has a lifetime warranty on this product. 2-10 said they will pay 200 USD towards labor cost. Kitchenaide said in no way is the product covered under warranty as I am not the original owner. ( I CONFIRM THIS AS TRUE! ). 2-10 then treats me like Im lying to them about this information, I encourage them to contact kitchen aide them self which they don't do. I once again contact kitchen aide and get them to email a denial letter, forward it to 2-10 home warranty still with no resolve in the mean time I can't even get rid of the broken dishwasher in the event that someone some day wants to repair it!. Horrible costumer service a complete and deliberate refusal to honor contract. Save your self hours and hours of frustration and disappointment.
