I purchased a 2001 Izuzu Troop on August 29th. Worst purchase I ever made in my life.
Please before you buy ANYTHING from them read my post. Email me, whatever today is November 5th and I am STILL dealing with these very same problems. The only thing I can say is the staff was very friendly but thinking back you'd have to be to get a sale.
Let's 1st start with the fact that there are no prices listed on thevehicle so if you don't check the prices BEFORE you go to their lot they will tack on at least another 2thousand onto the sales price. I came prepared and was warned about this. However I was not warned about everything else.
I purchased my car and was promised it would be ready on August 31st. I did not get my vehicle until until Wed Sept 2nd. I was a little aggravated but that was just the beginning. On Sept 7th my car broke down it wouldn't move. I did get the warranty so Empire had to come to Mass and pick the car up. For the next three weeks I called non-stop complaining that I put all my money into this car and yet I had to take taxi's, train's and busses to get around. After bitching for 3 weeks and threatening them with everything I can think of. They agreed they would give me a loaner and reinburse me for my 1st months car payment, seeing as I had the car for 6 days before it broke down and their creditor was looking for a payment on a car I hadn't even had. The loaner seemed to be in better condition that my own car! After numerous calls to the dealer I was finally told on NOVEMBER 6th. TWO MONTHS LATER that my car was ready. They claimed they gave me a brand new engine and even had the audactity to blame me for the transmission being damaged because I drove the car! For a whole SIX DAYS! Mind you they tell you the car would pass inspection and how can someone think the car would be damaged within 6 short days. They then changed their tune about reinbursing me saying the money they paid to fix my car was more than enough????? As if I damaged the car to begin with!
I picked up the vehicle that Friday 11.6.09 and by the time I hit Mass on my way home from NH the check engine light came! I called when I got home, Sat, Mon and was told to bring the vehicle back on Tues 11.10.09 I sat there for a few hours where I met another disgruntle customer who's car broke down after having it for 5 days. Unfortunately she did not purchase the warranty so she was there paying an additional $1, 000 to fix her car. On Tuesday 11.10.09 I was there for 2 hours when they reassured me my car was fine. I stopped at the mall of NH before going home and as I was leaving the mall...THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON!!! They looked at the car, AGAIN and told me nothing was wrong until it came back on while we were there and stayed on. I was there for several more hours and everyone in management had left. I was told I'd need to come back AGAIN because whatever they needed to fix couldnt be fixed in and hour (the time before they closed). I didn't hear from them Wed or Thur on Friday at 5 o'clock I called to see what was going on. I was told my truck has 6 cylinders and 1 was broken so I'd need to come back and get a brand new engine?? I thought I had just gotten one??? So as I stated this is ongoing I still have to go BACK again and whenI do I am going to raise hell! This is so frusterating. I just want to be a regular customer, pay my bills and move on with my life. Sad to say fo rthe last 4 months my car dealership has been a part of my life. Grrrrrrr!!!
