Defective Product
I am having my second major problem with my 2006 Chevy Equinox. First Problem the heater door (flap) got stuck in February 2010 and to repair it, the entire dash had to be removed: $1000.00 repair bill later it was replaced (see picture attached) . From what I have researched and understand there are many many Equinox owners have experienced the same, it is #1 dealer problem across America and there should be a recall on this.
This is a QUALITY issue in design and manufacturing.
Second major problem, the car will not pass inspection. Recently fixed EGR problem and THAT DIDN'T DO IT. ALL AREAS ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY and we can not get all 5 sensors on Inspection tool to close to pass inspection. I have never in my life have had a car that did NOT pass inspection. 7 trips to mechanic and still haven't found it...
Other small problems: DASH lights on heater/a/c control knobs out: Cost to fix $300.00 to replace circuit board that supports all 3 knobs plus mechanic labor time: Outrageeous...and more
frustrated and disgusted with GM again...gave them a 2nd chance and product is NOT GOOD...I will not buy another GM

MALARCHY
I am the primary individual on my 2006 Chevy Equinox contract, but I have been divorced for a year. In my divorce decree, my x-wife stated she wanted full responsibility for the vehicle. She wants everything, including payments and all. I believe if it is on paper that an x- spouse wants full responsibility for the vehicle it should be given to that spouse and contract changed. I know the contract rules will not change but she doesn’t make her payments on time, and I am continually being called on my cell phone and house phone that I willingly gave to GMAC. You guys even sent someone to my house and I happily showed him the inside of my garage, verifying that I did not have the vehicle. Every time I am called I have to re-explain my situation, and it is always stated that it will be documented. Well I have been re-explaining and you have been supposedly documenting this for almost three years. I KNOW YOU RECORD ALL OF YOUR PHONE CALLS, IN ONE OF THE MANY PHONE CALLS FROM JACKSONVILLE FL; I WAS TOLD THAT WITH MY PERMISSION IT WOULD BE REPO IMMEDIATLEY! Do you lie to all of your clients? I really do not want to deal with this matter any more, but if I have to I will call my lawyers, and explain to them that a GMAC representative lied to me over the phone and it is recorded. I apologize if I sound irritated but you have made it extremely frustrating for me.
Thank you for your time. Joseph Granados
