We purchased a 2009 Buick Enclave in July, 2009.
We returned to the dealership to tell them that there was a very, very significant problem. Initially, we thought the tire was coming off the vehicle, the vibration was so bad. Through process of elimination, we discerned that the vibration was caused by the rear windows being lowered, even just a little.
The dealership had a document #PIT4355B: Wind Buffeting Noise With A Rear Window Down and four models were listed with this CONCERN. The noise is descibed in this document as low frequency, high volume wind noise that is "helicopter like". Both the dealership and Buick refuse to pay for the fix which would be the installation of accessory weather deflectors. The cost is approx. $76. This is unreal. Can not understand why Buick/GM would think that it is up to the buyer to assume the cost for this. Can not understand why I would be told to either not roll down the windows on this new vehicle as a solution. We have two dogs that ride in the back and this is just crazy. Their other option is to roll down all four windows and that "might" help. We did not spend this much money on a vehicle for this kind of solution for their design problem. Can anyone find out why it makes sense for us, the consumer to pay for this fix? Robin Mikolowski 989-735-2264. I can not get a reasonable answer from anyone. Thank you very much.
