I purchased this watch by bidding for it several weeks ago. It was a very long time in shipping. I mildly complained but was given an assurance that this was normal due to the method of postage.
When received, watch appeared to be alright, and there was no apparent damage to the packing. I was foolish enough to confirm receipt and at that time saw no reason to withhold feedback. However I did soon notice that the watch stopped if it was off my wrist for more than about 7-11 hours. I assumed that it would improve with more use. A week or so later one of the hands fell off, so I contacted the supplier and complained, I also mentioned the short 'running time'...they seemed to think that this was normal. However, after further contact they suggested I return the watch to them for repairs. I did this at my own expense, imagining that as a reputable dealer they would repair the watch and eventually also refund the postage. They now say that the manufacturer (a different company) will not repair the watch, and that it has been subjected to a 'shock'... and the guarantee is therefore void. I do not believe this. I think they are avoiding their reponsibility. And if it did in fact have a shock it was before I recieved it and I feel they should take the liability.
They also say that as the supplier, they have a 7 day return policy. I don't recall having seen this limitation and, even if it is their policy, it is totally unreasonable and impractical... the watch took several weeks to reach me in the first place, so there is no way it could be expected back in that period of time. And why didn't they tell me about that before I sent it back... at their suggestion!?
Finally, I am dismayed that the watch, which they purported to be worth well in excess of $1000, should not have been checked for faults before it was originally despatched.
In summation: I have been supplied with a defective watch, I have paid for it's return and I am now being treated as if it is my fault.
You will see that the correspondence (website messages) confirms my complaint.
I would be most grateful if you would investigate this matter and advise me accordingly.
I tried to reason with the supplier but regret that this has not achieved the desired response.
