Having taken out a 12 month contract for a mobile 3G broadband connection, I decided to cancel the contract at the end of the term (mid August), as per the terms and conditions - I notified 3G of this "at lwast 30 days" before the end of the term (3rd week of june). I was contacted by thye 3G "Customer Service Call Centre" and told that this was too early as theri computer system could not handle it! But they could accept it if a charge of £8.42 was made for early closure of the contract - even though all 12 monthly payments would be made !
HAving pointed out that we were likely to be charged for contacting them in good time, the only continuous response was basically we should contact thenmt nearer the time .
Pedantic - Ridiculous - & the loss of 1 customer and anyone else I will speak to
