This company had me come in for not one but two interviews in White Plains, NY. It was a 65 mile drive for me one way as well as paying $5 to go over the bridge into NY. The first interview was with a manager who breifly asks you about your experience. Once the interview is over he tells you that you need to come back again the next day to go out with someone to see what the day to day operations are like. The second day I went out with a lady who basically goes door to door of local businesses and tries to con them into getting FIOS for their business. She starts off by stating that she needs to see their phone bills to verify they are getting the latest Verizon discounts. Even when the business owner states they don't have Verizon she still wants to see their bills to show them how much money she could save them by switching. All of the business owners declined because they knew this was some sort of scam. One business owner told her that she had cable for her internet and the lady I was with proceeded to try and get her to switch to Verizon DSL because it was faster she said. Thankfully this business owner knew she was completely lying and refused. I was basically told that this was a commission based job after going out with her for 2 hours. This after I was specifically told that it was a salaried job in my first interview. You have to drive your own car, waste your own gas, and the company pays for nothing. The tactics she was using to try and get people to convert to Verizon for HER benefit have to be completely illegal and should be reported. She didn't even get a good comission for having people convert either. I've always stood by Verizon, but after this interview it left me shaken and disturbed by the tactics this company employes. To hire another company to go out and scam people into moving away from Cablevision is no way to do business.
