Failure to deliver on promises
I am dealing with A&E Factory Repair Services right now. They make promises that they don't keep. Rather than answering questions, they avoid them. I recommend never buying the appliances that they service. That includes Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid and Sears. If my experience is any guide, you will encounter broken promises, incompetent people and a complete disregard for the customer.

TERRIBLE!
An A & E tech came 1 wk ago to repair my refrigerator under an extended svc plan. He spent no more than 10 min talking to me about the problem; never did anything more than open the refrigerator door; and told me it was 1 of 2 parts, both of which he would have to order.
He said the parts should arrive by the end of the wk (which they did), but for safe measure he suggested scheduling a return visit for 1 wk. We agreed upon a time slot of 1-5pm for this afternoon.
Because I heard nothing from A & E, I called their 800# at 2:30pm to be told that there was no appt set for today. According to the person w/ whom I spoke, an appt was arbitrarily set for A WEEK from today btwn 8am-noon w/out ever asking me. And, even though I have both ordered parts in my possession, no one from A & E was available to come out to repair my refrigerator any sooner.
When I said I wanted to register a complaint, the person w/ whom I was speaking asked if she could put me on hold and then disconnected me!
Bottom Line: I won't have use of my refrigerator for 2 WEEKS and A & E could care less.
Unfortunately, I did not see all the online complaints about A & E until today. I will never use A & E again. Hopefully, others will read this and other complaints before they agree to use A & E for appliance repairs.

Service is terrible
Hi,
Thanks for reading. Just a few details before I continue.
Location: Brookline, MA
Appliance: 2008 Maytag Dishwasher repair
Date: 7/26/10
Complaint: No call, no show.
A/E was supposed to come out to my place to fix a dishwasher under warranty. I booked my service directly from Maytag and the date they were supposed to arrive was 7/26/10 between 12pm-5pm. They stated that I needed to be available in the morning for a confirmation phone call so I called at 1030am and spoke to Veronica (800.771..3029) and told her my phone would be in an area with poor reception but to make sure to tell the technician that I would be home. She confirmed this and stated that it should not be a problem and told me everything was all set.
7/26/10 @ 3:55pm: I called again and spoke with Gris and she stated that the technician was running behind but would make it by 5pm. She assured me that my service call would be completed by the end of the day.
7/26/10 @ 5:46pm: No call. No show. I called and spoke with a manager and they hung up several times stating that they were going to re-route my call to the appropriate person.
I am so dissappointed that I wasted 1/2 a day and took of work early to get home and find out that they were so un-professional.
Please do not use these people for your service.

repair
called sears for repair-DACOR oven-sears referred me to a & e
service man arrives late-not familiar with this model, but determines that I need a particular part, which he orders- I pay 129. for svc call and 415. for the part.
set up second service call to install part-repairman arrives very late-(second work day lost on the oven repair),
tries to install the part, but cannot-tells me that a & e cannot work on DACOR-he does not know how to install the part-will refund my $...
he fills out refund form for the part, and reluctantly, the service call. It is 2 months since I paid for the part and service, and my credit card has not been refunded yet. an overall unprofessional organization

Complete Incompetence
This company is fraudulent in it's business practices. It has put into practice a loop which denies any attempt to escalate a problem. It continually transfers an individual from department to department. After talking with repair scheduling, then parts, then escalation they refused to handle issue and transferred me to service. I am currently on day 14 of this issue and have been on hold and speaking with different departments for 62 minutes. No one is taking responsibility and everyone is finger pointing.

Repair Service
A & E factory repair is a horrible company. First - I had to wait until a weekend when my refrigerator went out, because they only scheduled repairs in 4 hour windows and I would have to take a day off work to be here. They do not work evenings. Saturday - service came out and fixed my refrigerator at a cost of $500+. After he left I ran some errands and some grocery shopping. Just to find my refrigerator knocking, not holding a temp and no ice cubes yet. I immediately called A & E Factory Repair and she called the technician and of course he had already gone home. She said she sent him a message and he would call me to let me know when he would be able to come back out. She also said the earliest he would be able to come back would be Monday. HE NEVER CALLED. That was July 3rd. July 4 was on a Sunday - no repairs available. Monday - still no call from A&E so I called them. She said that the technicians do not work today - this is their holiday. Apparently she lied to me on Saturday. The earliest I could be scheduled would be Wednesday morning from 8-12. This company has very POOR customer service. There is no regard to return visits to fix a problem that I have already waited a week to get fixed. I spoke to the manager and he does not care about his customers. I was trying to explain to him and he was talking over me and telling me he understands but can not get anyone out here until Wednesday. It is a shame that companies can not treat you the same when you are getting your appliance fixed as when you were buying the appliance in the first place. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH A&E AGAIN! And just what am I supposed to do with the groceries I just bought? A&E does not care.

broken water valve
Don't EVER use this company. They flooded our kitchen, dining room and hallway. Our Maytag dishwasher was recalled. A & E came out to replace the faulty heating element. The first tech cussed up a storm and left a huge mess, as he left he said "I made a little leak in your water line, someone will be out to fix it today." Waited 2 hours, called A & E, they said that the service order was closed and no one could come out that day. I threatened to have them pay for an emergency plumber to come out and fix the problem, they sent someone out that very day. The second tech came out and "fixed" the leak. After he left, the dishwasher door wouldn't open and the dishwasher had on water. We called again, waited on hold for HALF AN HOUR. Third tech came out and said that there was a screw missing on our dishwasher door and he fixed the door, the water was never turned back on, so he turned the water back on. Asked him if we could run our dishwasher now, his response "Do whatever you want." Well, after a Father's Day away from home, we came home to a flooded kitchen. Our wood floor was totally ruined and warped beyond repair. The FOURTH tech came out and fixed the water valve. Apparently the water had been leaking continuously since the third tech turned it back on, OVER 48 hours!! The fourth tech took pictures and admitted that it was their fault. We were told that in two business days someone would be contacting us regarding insurance replacing our floor. We had to call them, and the guy on the phone said that he was waiting for US to call.

No Show
As a result of the GE dishwasher recall - we scheduled an appointment to replace the heating eliminate. These clowns called the day before to confirm the appointment and then pulled a no show. They never called- nothing. I took time off from work. I then couldn't get a hold of anyone on the phone. I guess you get what you pay for.

Terrible Service
A & E Factory service is terrible. They have charged me $192 to fix an icemaker and then not fixed and now will not show up to fix it.
They had scheduled an appointment for 1-5 pm yesterday and cancelled. They rebooked another appointment for today and have cancelled. I've talked to no less than 10 people at their company in customer service and apparently they are not empowered or frankly don't care.
Paul lied, Patrice lied, Kristina wanted to help but couldn't, talked to Sabrina twice and a lot of hold time and a dropped call and she couldn't help, Vincent dropped my call accidentally but couldn't help. Rudy was an escalation point and he made zero effort to help. I asked to speak with his manager and his manager would not talk to me and was going to call me back - surprise haven't heard a word from him. Crystal called me at 8 am this Saturday this morning to confirm they had in fact cancelled on me again. Nancy - just couldn't find any time in the schedule.
I officially have apologies from 10 people at A&E but I don't have my icemaker fixed, I'm out $192 and I've wasted 2 afternoons waiting on these people to help me.
I will file a formal complaint with the BBB just out of principle at this point since I now have free time because they stood me up again.
Avoid using A & E if at all possible.

No show, no call
I'm am in PA and A & E was supposed to come out to fix our water dispenser on our refrigerator. Not only did they not show or call to confirm, but we called them twice and, up till 4:30 PM, they were still telling us the repair person would be there by 5 PM! We asked them to contact the repair person and have them call us to advise when they would show and he never called!
Finally, about 6 PM, we called them back to cancel and received no apology or any sign of remorse for not showing! They are the worst...DO NOT CONTACT THEM FOR ANY REPAIRS!
