Don't ever do business with this company!
After waiting 2 weeks for a service rep to show up from A&E for a Maytag dishwasher recall the service tech in the process of trying to repair broke a part. Now we're told that we have to wait another 2 weeks even though we already have the replacement part. The people at A&E are NOT helpful, are NOT customer oriented, are NOT willing to stand behind their mistakes. DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Poor customer service!
Rude, non-helpful customer service. If my parts are delivered when they say I'll only have been waiting for my dishwasher to be fixed for 10 days. I'm getting the runaround as far as when the part was ordered or when it will arrive. For some reason I have to track the package myself. The tech is great, but I will never use A &E again.

Bad appliance, failure to appear!
Bought a new MAYTAG range with to defective burner switch. Maytag sent A & E out four days later. He didn't have a repair part. Said he would order one and be back to fix it. Got a recording saying he'd be back between 9 and 5 on a certain date. Haven't seen him or the parts yet. The lady who took my call was rude. Never again MAYTAG OR A & E.

Didn't leave copy of extended warranty
I was on the internet and discovered that a Whirlpool Dehumidyfer I had was recalled so I called Whirlpool and they were very nice and sent part so it can be rewired. In the box was a 1 year extended warranty. The repairman came a couple of days early since he was in the area. They called to verify this so that was fine. The repairman rewired it (and I hope correctly) and was very nice and proceeded to clean up. In the process he took the one year extended warranty. Since that time I have been advised incorrectly by Whirlpool that they would send another one.It never came and when I called they said they cannot even send one so they transferred me to A & E .I have been transferred and given all kinds of phone numbers and put on hold and had to spend 45 minutes on the phone to lodge a complaint. It seems real easy to send a copy of that warranty to me. My dehumidyfyer was working fine, now if it conks out I will have to buy a new one since if they cannot back up there work with a paper warranty, I doubt they will come and fix it later. It is crazy how i cannot even speak to the local office here and they will call me. I am still waiting.

Poor quality product!
Unit has not worked since I bought and Hair insists you cannot take the unit anywhere and you have to have their service people come and fix it. When it was close to 5 pm and got the phone number to call, they claimed they called three hours ago to reschedule an appointment I had made two weeks ago. The next available Saturday appointment is a full month later, so I have 4 more hot weeks to live with. They were completely unresponsive and irresponsible, giving me only the Texas guy Alvin Lewis as a contact person, no phone number, no email. Then, I was unable to reach Haier to complain.
My feeling is that since the unit is under warranty, they will provide the worse possible service, which is essentially no service at all, until I just give up and throw the unit into the trash.

No show and poor customer service
These people make cable installers look good! I have scheduled service for my washer/dryer twice, for which I had to be home from (time off from work) in four hour blocks. The first time he was a no-show. The second time, he showed up 30 minutes late, called to be let in the gate and was gone by the time I got there.
I was expected to wait nine hours, but his waiting 2 minutes to be let in was out of the question. He refused to be dispatched back to the job. The customer service supervisor's only response was basically - yes, we offer terrible service, what do you want me to do about it?
I used A&E Factory Service once before when the spin cycle on this same w/d unit wasn't working intermittently. They were basically paid to tell me that I was overloading my machine and that nothing was wrong. Though this wasn't the case, the problem solved itself - the intermittent problem ceased and I didn't have to argue with them.

Not keeping appointments
A & E factory service, the worst company to deal with. I scheduled a saturday june 9, 2007 appointment from 8am - 12p to repair my amana refrigerator, which i waited 1 month for the part to come in. I got the automated confirmation call the night before and also called several times during the week to make sure the tech would show up as scheduled. I was assured the tech would be there on saturday june 9 as scheduled, i even called that same day and again assured tech would be to my home today but that he was running behind and he will call b4 coming to my home. I hear nothing, still waiting. Finally i call a&e factory service, they said i wasnt on schedule for today. I flipped out, i then spoke with a supervisor who said mixup in schedule no tech will be out today, i said why was i assured by their reps and the automated confirming call they would be here? I said it is not my fault there was a mixup in there scheduling, i scheduled this appt 1 month ago and it is my only day off, the manager said she would send an email to her mgr in my area. I gave her 3 different callback telephone numbers to get back to me on. I never heard back, an 1 hour later i called again, spoke to a diff mgr, no help she hung up on me. They just yes mam you to death. Still hours later no callback from any mgr, i then call a&e again. Spk w/a third mgr who says there is nothing she can do for me and says no one will be coming out today, i said what you only have 1 tech in connecticut, she said the tech is on an emergency, i said i am an emergency i have been waiting 1 month for my refridge to be repaired. She said she will email the mgr in my area again. Then she hung up. What a lousy company to deal with. They set up apts but don't keep them and never contact their customers. Now i am stuck with a part that kept getting back ordered and 1 month later i get and a broken refrigerator. Very frustrated customer. I will let every know how bad this company is to deal with and now i find out sears owns them, no wonder why i never purchased appliances from sears, i always heard they were lousy...

Worst customer service ever, 6 appointments appliances still dont work!
I own new Whirlpool appliances, refrigerator, washer, drier, dishwasher. I've had extensive issues with Whirlpool's equipment, but am really writing to complain about one of their contracted repair service companies, A & E factory service. Never in my life have I been let down so often and spoken to so rudely by a repair service or customer service department. My washer has been serviced 4 times in 1.5 months and is still not working correctly. A & E has repeatedly missed appointments and has little sympathy for me, the customer, who's had to take 4 half days off work due to their incompetence, which has led to missed income for me. I could have bought new appliances with the money lost. We are also having refrigerator issues which they supposedly fixed, but broke down again soon thereafter. That's a total of 6 service appointments for 2 appliances in 1 year. The worst part is, when I call their customer service (all names, operator #s are documented, as are dates) and complain about missed appointments, they are not even sorry. I said "What happens if you guys fail to show up for a 4th time, what recourse do I have?" Their exact response, "None. All you can do is reschedule a 5th appointment." I asked them to waive the $ 60 fee as a way to make it up to me and the customer service supervisor literally laughed over the phone. Now I've spent $6000 on faulty appliances that can't be serviced properly because either A & E factory service doesn't know what they are doing or just does not care. I've filed complaints with Whirlpool who stated, "We are severely embarrassed for A & E that this has happened and will use other vendors in your area moving forward." They've agreed to fix the refrigerator and washer for free, to make up for A & E Factory Service's incompetence. I am filing this complaint after reading MANY complaints on the Internet against A & E that were eerily similar to mine. I want to prevent A & E Factory Service (I believe they are contracted via Sears) from costing another household, time, money and stress with their rudeness, lack of knowledge, and lack of common sense. Their address on the business card is: A & E Factory Service, 353 Richard Mine Road, Wharton, NJ phone 800-905-9505. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Price gouging
Jenn-Air recommended A & E Factory Service for the repair of my cooktop's igniter. For 20 minutes of work they charged a whopping $142!!! What a rip off!
I wish I had known about this complaint web site before I called them.

Lack of service
I called Sears on Saturday May 5, 2007 to report that my dryer was not heating. They had someone call me back to schedule an appointment. The only days they are in my area are Monday, Wednesday, & Friday's. Because of where I work Mondays & Fridays are not good days, so I scheduled it for Wednesday the 9th. I told them that because I worked they needed to call me on my cell phone 45 min. ahead of time so I would have time to get home. I called repeatedly during the day to verify that they had the correct phone number and where they were at on their schedule. At 4:00 in the afternoon I called again, and was told they were not able to reach me and that I would have to reschedule. They had called my HOME phone number! I could get no satisfaction no matter who I spoke with, Sears or A & E. I rescheduled and finally got someone out to my house and of course they had to order parts. The parts came in Tuesday the 8th, I received a phone call to verify that they came. I rescheduled for Monday the 21st, because my son would be out of school and would be there to wait. The repairman called to see if the parts were there and my son misunderstood what he said and said no, I called them right back and told them that yes they were there. The lady I spoke with said she would send the repairman an email to let him know the parts were there and told me I was next on the list. An hour later I called again, and they had it in there records that the parts were NOT there and I had been removed from the list, and I would have to reschedule. This company is the most pathetic company to deal with, no one knows what anyone is doing and no one follows through with anything. No wonder Sears is failing. I won't shop there again!
