Ripoff
This Medium-sized Italian guy, around 5'8, shave head, blue eyes, wearing a suit and blue tie sold these jackets to my father. This man ripped off my dad in Visalia, CA at a gas station in Goshen by 99 Hwy. He approached him and ask if he was Portuguese or Mexican. My father knows very little english and spoke to him in Spanish. He said he was flying back to Italy. He is on his way to Fresno airport - he has a 9pm flight. He showed his plane ticket and passport and a wad of money to show he wasn't poor. Then he gave him a bogus cheaply printed card which showed himself as clothing rep for an Italian company that deals in Gucci, etc. He claimed he had attended ARMANI-GUCCI-BOSS_VERSACE Exposition and has to catch the flight back to Italy. He said his boss gave him 7 jackets (5 leather, 2 suede) and he didn't want to take them back to Italy. I want to sell them to someone that could make some money. He doesn't want to take the jackets on the plane and mention their worth $ 1, 400 each. My father got convinced and buys 4 leather jackets for $300. Then he was walking away and he mention I have 3 womens leather and suede. He asked for $500 but my father makes an offer of $145 for all 3. At the end, my father ended up paying $445 and walked away with 7 jackets which he doesn't need or want. He kept saying whenever you go to Italy call me, you could stay at my place. When he brought them for us to see we looked them up in internet and sure enough read all the scam stories through out CA. He shows the jacket, which has all the made in Italian tags printed all over it. The jacket smell like leather. He offered me to touch and feel the jackets, which I did. He thing takes a lighter to the jackets to prove they are leather (who knows? Does that prove anything at all?) I was suspicious, because why would he have to prove the authenticity of jackets that were authentic?
