Packing # 4825931-30 I have pictures of all damaged items and the way they were packed in the boxes. This corporate move pack out by this company was terrible. My wife and I found when we opened the boxes here in Georgia found items such as Tiffany like lamp shades packed on top of each other with no padding in between. All three broken, glasses and 5 Llardo broken porcelain statues packed the same way. The porcelain statues, glassware, and collectables cannot be repaired, only replaced. Many picture frames had the glass broken. Marble chest of draws corner broken due to no padding. 2 king mattresses were upon delivery were tied on the "outside" of the rear of the delivery truck, mildewed and soiled. This shotty moving company was unbelievable in their packing & performance. I am so disappointed. I sent in all the required letters, pictures of damaged items and paperwork requested. Now the claims mgt company (Claim # APLS12) Anthem Claim Mgt LLC of 2351 W. Memorial Ct., Anthem Az. seems like they along with A Plus Movers are trying to wiggle out of their poor packing abilities and the destruction of my household goods by sending me a letter stating they will only pay $249 or .60 cents per pound = per article of my damaged items. $249 ONLY! I should have seem this coming when they arrive with boxes they stated they had stopped by and picked up from Lowes down the street along with making comments to my wife that they did not bring enough packing paper. The original quote was for APPROX $5, 500 for the move to my new company and when the truck arrived I had to pay the moving truck driver another cashier check or cash of approx $10, 000 or they would not remove my goods and they would return to ASt. Louis with my stuff until they were paid. This luckily was paid by my company. I am also in contact with the State Attorneys General in both the AZ and MO. Any help you can provide will be helpful. I just don't want others to experience this company’s poor performance without knowing in advance. I don't even know if these folks have a business license since most I have talked to have a Russian accent and no web page or telephone contact info in the phone book. As mentioned, I original contacted and paid a deposit to American Van Lines at 800-594-7779 and they brokered this job out to A Plus. All they would say after the fact was A Plus is who I needed to talk to, not them. They gave me the A Plus phone number and hung up on me. Again I have extended pictures and correspondence concerning this damage. The claims mgt letter states that (in the fine print that you cannot read) I by signing the bill of laden I agreed to the .60 cent per item per pound issue. The copy I was given at pack out and the delivery you cannot read.
I know the replacement value is high due to the Lladro figurines. Many are irreplaceable due to being collectable and discontinued by Lladro of Spain. I collected these while stationed in the U.S. Navy in Spain for 11 years. I collected these throughout the late 70's and during the 1980's while stationed have proof as to what the costs are for the replacements of the other. $5442.95 original claim they are trying to get me to sign a settlement agreement for $249. They are CRAZY, watch out for these ripp offs
