A Tooth Doctor For Kids Reviews

Un-necessary Treatment on a Child
Took my son who was 3 yrs old, to thier first location on Fredriksburg Rd, to get his teeth examined. The Dentist, Dr Dorsainville told me (after the examination) that my son needed maybe 1 pulpotomy and 4-5 caps. She said the procedure would take no later than an hr to complete. They then scheduled me to have the procedure done at thier other office location, across the other side of the city because that's where they do them(on thier SW Military Dr location). I thought Dr Dorsainville was going to do the procedure, since she was the one who saw my son. This was not the case. A hispanic dentist named Gomez did the procedure.I never met the man and he never introduced himself to me when I brought my son there. The only person to meet and greet us was the anesthisiologist, who drives each month from another city(2 hrs away) to assist the dentist. He did all the talking and told me that my son's teeth were pretty bad as Dr Dorsainville had previously told me.So, they take my child in and apply a mask on him. This scares him and he starts to cry uncontrolably. After about 5 minutes he goes limp.I was told this was natural and then was told to leave the room. An hr went by and I asked the front office what was taking so long, because i was informed it would be no longer than an hr(which even the receptionist confirmed this herself)She went and looked in for me and came out and said it was going to be a little longer. Ended up being 4 whole hrs! After it was done, I asked why it took so long and they said because the dentist took his time and that my child actually needed 9 root canals! ( Root canals on baby teeth! The dentist (Gomez) left the room rather quickly and again the anesthisiologist did all the talking as usual, telling me that my son had really bad cavities. After wards, I consulted with other dental professionals and they told me that being under sedation for so long can cause trauma and possible health issues to my child. Many said they would not do a 4 hr treatment, but that they would schedule it out into 2 or 3 visits, so as to do it a little at a time. A friend told me because i was on Medicaid, this dental office milked it for everything they could in order to get paid right away and in one lump sum. Pictures of my poor son afterwards, looked horrendous. Such a small child to have to go thru so much in a short time hurts me and sickens me. There has to be some kind of justice for him and others like him. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. We live in Texas.
