I carried my 1978 Yamaha 1100XS "which is a True OEM numbers matching Antique" to A1 Parts and Performance for a simple syncing of the carburettors and general tune up.
They did the cleaning and syncing of the crabs then decided to take my cycle for a test run before going over the rest of the bike and doing the up, «note my motorcycle was running and rideable when I took it in just needed servicing after sitting up all winter"
Then the shop called me stating that there may be a problem with my bike. It seems that taking my cycle for a test run around the parking lot of their establishment was not proving enough as to how well it was running so the mechanic "I use this term loosely" decided to take a run down the street.
He pulled up to the street side then was on his way 1st gear cool, 2nd no problem, lets Pop the Clutch into 3rd and see what this baby will do. Snap goes the shifting forks locked the Trannie Up...
The owner say's his man may or may not be responsible and that until they rip my engine apart and find out just what the problem is he's not going to guarantee anything and that he will need $600 upfront to cover the cost of ripping it apart.
All I can say is Ride Your Own Bike!!!
