We had water damage due to our frig leaking. The repair guy showed up quickly and proceeded to saw out out hardwood floor, tear out all the trim before even stating what the extent of the damage was. He was in such a hurry to tear things out I ran out and stopped him. I asked him after he had ruined 1/2 the flooring (which is the real hardwood not the fake stuff and very expensive) what he was going to do and if all this was necessary. He said he was going to tear out the wood and then the tile. We were not looking to get new floor the flooring was newer and removing it would cause extensive cost and problems. I asked him if her could try to dry the floor with the huge dryers he brought and he said yes. He was going to tear our tile floor out in the kitchen which would cause the cabinets to have to be removed (they are new also) not to mention thousands of $$$ of extra cost. Even though were insured THIS WAS NOT NECESSARY. HE THEN PROCEEDED TO TEAR OUT ALL THE NICE BASEBOARD AND TOOK IT WITH HIM HE ALSO TOOK THE FLOORING THAT WE COULD HAVE SAVED. AAA SHOULD INSIST THAT THE CONTRACTORS THEY SEND OUT TRY TO DRY AND REPAIR STUFF WITHOUT trying to scam more work. They are just hoping they can get the repair work. He took all our precut expensive trim that we could have used again!!! THANK GOD I STOPPED HIM OR HE WOULD HAVE TORN UP MY TILE AND CABINETS!!!
