Worst Customer Service Ever
Less than 3 years ago we purchased appliances at Lowes (washer and dryer)". We also purchased the extended warranty offered'. On July 2nd, my dryer quit heating so I called the company on the brochure to submit a request for repair'. I was told that the next available appointment wasn't until July 12th so I scheduled for the 8-12 time slot?. Having a family of 5, I wasn't thrilled with the idea of going so long without a dryer and having to haul my 8 month old BABY to the dirty laundromat but I didn't have any other options..

July 12th, the technician finally shows up at my house shortly before Noon/. I had to run and pick up my son from swimming lessons and when I returned the tech said that he had figured out the problem--it was indeed the heating element'. I thought "well duh"---THEN he proceeds to tell me that he has to order the part!!! When I questioned him as to why they wouldn't carry the parts with them he said that the "company" doesn't want to spend the money to ship the parts until they know what part they are going to need--because if it wasn't the heating element--the "company" would have to spend the money to return the part!. The poor guy probably feared for his life at this point---he said that he "emergency ordered" the part and that it would ship directly to me in 2 days or perhaps 1 week...he didn't know. THEN he told me that the next available appointment in our area wasn't until August 2nd. This would mean that I will be without a dryer for an entire month. Are you kidding me????

He told me that I would have to call the "company" to try to get the date moved up. He also indicated that A&E Factory Service is actually owned by Sears...so on the days he works on a product purchased at Lowes, he wears his A&E uniform and hands out those business cards, but when he works on Sears items, he wears that uniform/business cards.

After he left, I called the number on the A&E card. Spoke with three different people (repeating my story three times) about my disappointing situation..the final person being a "manager" at some call center in who-knows-where who basically told me that there was no way to speed up the process, track the part, etc. I mean seriously, these people could not care less. I then find out that the part (remember the "emergency order"?) won't be here until maybe July 20th. Maybe before--but no guarantees... Ugh! I'm so frustrated by this point. The lady tells me that she can't even schedule my appointment until tomorrow (July 13th) and that I would have to call back then. I asked her if there was a way I could contact her again so that I didn't have to go through the agony of explaining my situation another 5 or 6 times. No--of course not.

So today (July 13th) I have spent a great portion of my day trying to get somewhere with these crooks. I have called Sears, and then they transferred me to A&E because I'm sure they got tired of listening to me complain and as such pesky questions about the service I paid for but wasn't getting...A&E (call center again) was no help either...

Meanwhile, the laundry piles up--and I have to make another trip to the laundromat. As I read other reviews about this company I'm just saddened by the fact that we as consumers are being ripped off by these huge companies like Sears and Lowes. We go there because they offer a better deal than the smaller hometown guy but we end up paying MORE in the long run because these big companies don't CARE about us.

The absurdity of the situation is insane. I have no idea where the technician had to drive from because we live in outstate Minnesota (rural) but how efficient is it for him to have to make this journey TWICE? I'm guessing that it would have been cheaper to pay the shipping for the part and then they'd actually have a slighty-less-offended customer.

I really can't say enough about how disappointed I am by this companies service. I should add that in defense of the technician...he was very nice and professional. It's not his fault that these companies have no idea what they are doing.

Repair service
We have a service agreement with Sears .I feel that they did not honor it. Today I was kept on phone for hours by Sears technical service people who have no inkling of what service means. My call became disconnected three times and noone attempted to call me back. The freezer on my fridge was serviced two days ago. Mike, the Repairman from A&E Factory Service spent half hour in my house and one and half hour in his truck eating and on the phone. Upon leaving he said he probably will have to come back again and to call him on his cell.The service charges were $228.00, but we were coerced into buying a service agreement for $250.00.The fridge and freezer is not working now and Sears cannot come back until July 13 for repair. Mike doesnt return my calls left on his answering machine. This fridge is in a beach rental property and I need repair done ASAP. I have been forced to buy a new fridge from Lowes and I am out $250.00., but intend to dispute all charges with sears and A&E.

Slow, Poor customer Service
They will never arrive on time. All three times I have had to wait for them for the same problem they have been hours late. The appointments are set for between 8am and noon and the technician would never arrive before 2pm! They ordered four extra boxes of parts to be shipped to my house that I paid for and then they didn't even need to use them and told me I had to send them back myself if I wanted the refund for them, just horrible customer service. Then they left heavy oily old parts on my back deck to top it off!

EMPLOYEES GIVING FALSE INFORMATION
I am filling this complaint due to a very unprofessional and unsatisfied service and false information that I received from A&E employees. I had the same problem that kept on re-occuring on my Jenn-Air refrigerator. The first time a technician came to my house to check the problem was on May 10, 2011 and ordered the parts for me and scheduled an appointment to put in parts on May 17, 2011 and when i called on May 16, 2011 to confirm my appointment, a representative stated that my appointment is not until May 18, 2011. I re-schedule it for May 20, 2011 because they would not work with my schedule. A technician came on May 20, 2011 and fixed my fridge. A week later, my fridge was acting up again and was having the same problem. I called A&E to have a technician come over and fix the problem again and they came over on June 1, 2011 and fix it again. A week later, it was broken again with the same exact problem. I called A&E and spoke to a man on June 5, 2011. I was getting tired of calling them and complaining the same problem. I was told that the next available appointment was not until June 10, 2011 and I was not happy about it due I have already loss plenty of money on food and time off at work, I had told the man that was assisting me that i would like to speak with the manager in charge and he put me on hold and contacted the manager. I handed the phone to my boyfriend because my boyfriend would like to speak with the manager. The man on the other line had told my boyfriend that a technician will be coming the very next day but it will be an open window. My boyfriend took a day off from work and stayed home. Around 3 pm, theres still no sign nor phone call from the technician so my boyfriend immediately called A&E company and the representative that he spoke with stated that there was no appointment schedule for us to come on June 6, 2011 and stated to my boyfriend that whoever we spoke to, lied to us. Our fridge is still broken. We loss another day at work and loss money on food. Employees at A&E are liars and do not consider customers emergency need. They just DONT CARE, PERIOD.

poor customer & repair service
This isn`t my first bad experience with A&E . I pay for a service contract for all my appliances, A&E is who they assign to fix my frigidaire dishwasher.I called to have my dishwasher repaired last year. First they send someone out to see what the repair problem is, then they order parts & reschedule.

The service tech that they sent was so bad, that the machine had more things wrong after he fixed than before.It took 5-6 service caslls for my machine to be fixed. They finally had to send a different service tech to complete the job.

One year later the same machine isn`t working again, with the same problems. I called my service contract provider & requested a repair appointment, specifying that I did not want the same service tech I was sent last year & I gave his name. We made the appointment & the request was noted.

On 5/6/11 the day of appt. which I took the day off from work for, I recieved a call at 12 noon saying that the service man that I didn`t want was the one in my area today, would I like to rescheduleto another day when he isn`t working in my area.needless to say I rescheduled to 5/10/11.

on 5/10/11 my appt. window was 12-5pm. By 4:45pm the service tech still hadn`t come nor called, so I called A&E. They said he was running late, would I like him to call & let me know when he would be arriving? Naturally I said YES. At 5:25pm I still hadn`t received a call, so I called A&E AGAIN, telling them the tech still hadn`t called me, thay said that he could be upto 1 hour & 45 mins. late, but they would contact him to call me.

It is now 7:15 still no service tech. I call A&E for the 3rd TIME, wanting to know what was going on, they told me that I was rescheduled for 5/17/11, because the service tech today was the one that I didn`t want. I told them that I took off from work for the 2nd time, waited home from 12-7:15pm, made 3 calls to A&E, to now find that without my knowledge, that Ihad been rescheduled??!!

I demanded to speak to a supv. or manager. When I was connected to this so called supv. I asked who rescheduled me?? I`ve called A&E 3 times today & I never spoke of being rescheduled. Her reply was you were automatically rescheduled because the service you didn`t want was the one bin your area today.

By now as you could imagine the top of my head was about ready to blow off. I then asked her what was the purpose of rescheduling fron 5/6/11 to 5/10/11. Her reply was... well we never know until the day of service who the service tech will be for any one area, soyou will alway`s have this problem unless you take who ever we send you.(I guess she was absent the day they were teaching peaople skills). I replied, TAKE WHO EVER YOU SEND ME< I WOULDN`T EVEN OF KNOWN I HAD ANOTHER APPOINTMENT OR WHY< IF I HADN`T OF CALLED BACK!!!

THE BOTTOM LINE: I lost 2 days salary, stayed home for over 7 hours waiting, didn`t get my machine repaired, was jerked around & lied to all day, and was given an ultimatum by a service provider.

unrepairable refrigerator
I purchased an extended warranty from this company on a whirlpool refrigeratot Ipurchased at Lowes. The fridge is 18 mos old and they ahave attempted to repair it 12 times without success. I am told by the resolution hotline the service tech has to deem it unrepairable in order to replace the fridge and the service tech tells me they can only do what their boos that they speak with while repairing the fridge tells them to do. Their "boss refuses to speak to me[ the customer]. Whirlpool says it is not covered since the factory warranty ran out at one year, however they came to repair starting at fridge age of ten mos. Lowes says since we didn't buy the warranty through them there is nothing they can do.. helpppppp

rip off
These characters come out to my house to diagnose problems with my oven, cooktop and microwave. They look at my microwave for less than 2 minutes and tell me that it will cost more to fix it than to replace it. Bang: $130 in 2 minutes. Then, next: the oven. 3 minutes later: the keypad is broken and it will cost more to repair it than fix it. same with the cooktop. except it costs an addition $75 dollars to diagnose each. So, in under 15 minutes, they skimmed me for $280!!

No Show
A&E installed an oven part incorrectly. They rescheduled for a week later. They have an automated machine that calls the three days prior to their schedule appointment to confirm that the parts have arrived. You have to call them to confirm that the part has arrived. Unfortunately, they can't update their system so the automated machine continues to call twice a day telling you to call back (they don't call you with an actual person). They give you a four hour window in which they are going to come -- for me, Friday 1-5. At 3 o'clock, I call to confirm (again) that they will show up. The computer shows a scheduled arrival of around 4:30. At 5:15 I call back and they say nobody was coming. Very sorry. No call.

The only problem is I am a surgeon and I canceled an afternoon of patients. They charge you all the same...

Terrible service. Never ever use them.

Bad Business Practices
My husband and I work and we had scheduled an apt with A & E for 3/21/11 (Monday) to install the parts we bought from them. We paid up front for parts and labor. It took almost two weeks for them to get our parts to us and they could not come out when we got them. We had to wait five days for this apt from the time we got the parts. Our scheduled time was 8am to 12 pm on Monday 3/21/11. I had my father drove 35 miles one way in the morning to wait for the repair guy to show up. At 11:40am I called to ask when they were going to show up and I was told that they would have a tech call me back on what time they would be there. Five min later my husband got a voice mail stating they could not come out. My husband called them and said this was unaccepetable and they would not send anyone out to finish fixing our dryer until Friday. I called about our apt and asked if we could be the first apt and she was not nice and said "I can't guarantee that". I asked about a discount and she told me to return my parts and then I would get a discount. This company does not care about their customers. They DO NOT care about the mistakes they make. I hope people stop and think about going with a better company. I have now learned to pay a little extra cash for good service. I have not had a Dryer in over three weeks and A & E is now making that even longer.

No repair service
A&E Factory Service is the worst company I have ever dealt with. So far they have replaced 3 Maytag dishwasher latches on my new dishwasher and it still does not work They were scheduled to return last week but canceled..Today they were scheduled to return and try another series of parts in order to try to get my new Maytag dishwasher to work. I called twice to check on the arrival the A&E repairmen and was told he is in route to your house. When I called the third time I was told "we are sorry he has quiet for the day but we can reschedule you in a couple days". Tomorrow I call Whirlpool the manufacturer of Maytag and ask that they remove their non working new dishwasher.
