In March 2010 I contracted Aaron R. Thomas to fabricate acrylic legs and a back for a custom chair I designed for a client. I communicated back and forth with Noel Thomas, the vice president, working out the specifications and ETA which would be about a month. The contract said that the items must be paid in full to begin production. I was a little apprehensive because they are located in California and I am in New York but I researched them and saw that they had a respected client list. I sent the payment of $650 and six months later I still have not received the legs and back! I have called and emailed regularly (27 emails documented) and no one has responded. The pre-recorded message I constantly get is that “their small hands-on team is busy” and that someone will get back to me. My attorney has sent two demand letters and again, no response. I take my job as an interior designer extremely seriously, and the satisfaction of my clients is my primary concern. This is obviously not the case with Aaron R. Thomas! Their failure to deliver the said goods could have seriously jeopardized my relationship with my client, who has disgustedly cancelled the order. I noticed on Aaron R Thomas’ Facebook page they boast they made something for the Obamas - I am certainly not the First Family but I would expect to be treated with the same professionalism and the decency of a response. I will continue to pursue a full refund but in the meantime be aware:
Aaron R. Thomas is a gifted artisan but not someone you want to do business with!
