Aaron's Rent To Own Reviews

Tried To Break In To My House!
A few years ago when I lived in Jacksonville, Florida. I had rented a floor freezer, washer & dryer from Aaron's Rent To Own. I returned the washer & dryer after some problems with the payments. I made them, they conveniently 'lost' the info and wanted to argue about if I was going to give them more money when I had already paid for the month. I returned the washer & dryer and kept the freezer and still paid on it. About a week or two after the incident with the washer & dryer I was awoken at about 8 am in the morning by a loud banging noise. Some idiot was literally beating on the side of my house (I lived in a mobile home at the time)! I got up to see what was going on when this person then started to try and break into my house. He started kicking the door as to 'kick it in' to get inside my house. Then he went around to a different door the back door and started doing the same thing! I yelled through the door asking him what he thought he was doing because I saw the Aaron's truck outside after I had looked out the window to see who the fool was trying to break into my house for no reason. He was cussing me out and saying that he was going to come into the house one way or another. I told him if he entered my house I'd shoot him. In the meantime I called the Aaron's center & got the manager on the phone and told him he'd better call off this guy or else I'd shoot him & then call the cops to come retrieve the body. The manager called the guy made him stop and then came out himself to get the freezer. What I really do not understand is the freezer was NOT behind in payments. I was paid up for at least a month before this happened!

Terrible service
I went to Aaron's on 12/15/10 to get a HP Touchsmart Laptop for my daughter. The salesman was friendly and asked if I wanted a new or pre-leased computer. I said i'd prefer a new one. Well, he said let me call around to our other stores in the area and I'll see if they have any new ones. He told me he would call me before 2 pm that day. By Friday, 12/17/10, he still hadn't called so I decided to settle and went up to the store to see about a pre-leased one. I talked with a manager regarding payments and such and he was very informative. He told me even thought it was a laptop, it was their policy that it had to be delivered and they would deliver it on Saturday, 12/18/10 between 10 and 3. I sat around all day Saturday and no one ever showed up or even bothered to call. I called the store at 3:30 and the guy said their driver had ran out of hours and had left for the day but that NOW I could pick it up if I wanted. So I drive up to the store for a 3rd time and when I got there I waited for 15 minutes for them to get the computer I paid for on Friday, ready. Don't you think they should have done that when I paid for it? Luckily I asked about the pen that comes with the computer because all I saw was the powercord. The guy said he didn't know where it was and proceeded to look around in a few boxes with no results. He said he was going to have to order one for it. Shouldn't they have done that when it was returned without one? I told him I needed it ASAP because Christmas is near. He told me he didn't know how long it would take and that he would call me. As with everytime they've told me this, I'm sure that I'm the one that will have to call them. I have never seen a business that is so unorganized and lacks anykind of communication between the workers. They really seem to care less about anything other than taking your payment. I will be calling the manager on Monday, because of course the person I needed to talk to wasn't there at the time when I picked up the computer. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

Junk recliner rip off
I bought a recliner from Aaron's back in October when they were having their recliner sale, they had listed 3 different recliner's good, better, best, for I believe 49.00, 59.00 and 69.00 dollars respectively. I wanted the best, but all my store had was one of the good recliners in stock. So I bought the good model, it broke in one two weeks later, it took them two weeks to come and get it to fix it as they said. Then they had it for two more weeks to repair it. They brought it back after 3 attempts to collect their November payment, which I refused to pay, since I did not have the chair. Needless to say it broke again less than 2 weeks later, I called them back and now they want to sell me the Best Model recliner but want a payment of $109.00 a month in stead of the $69.00 it was originally advertised for. This should be illegal in my opinion.

Nothing but problems
This company abuses both their employees and their clientele. I have requested several times that they fix my merchandise (6 verbally, and 7 in writing) and was told that they would not. They also claim i owe them 14 more installments when by my records they are only owed 5. They constantly harass my roommates and have filled my voice mailbox with messages. i have tried working with them up until this point and I am ready to refuse further payments to them. They threatened one of their employees with his job if he did not gain access to my house to retrieve the merchandise WHICH IS PAID UP UNTIL NEXT MONTH placing his life in danger from my roommates not to mention purpetrating an illegal act. These people are not ethical nor moral. Do not buy from them!!! Do not rent from them!! Have nothing to do with them!! They have caused nothing but problems and have even harassed our children.
