furniture and personnel
My name is Iris Mendoza (516) 801-1581.I went into the store located at 210 Fulton Avenue, Hempstead NEw YORK. I went in with friend and family. I really liked a living room set they had in display, I filled out the application and asked Mr. Lenny if I would get new or the display and he replied new. Well, after processing the application I payed 132 dollars and waited for the merchandise. And the time of the delivery I noticed it was the display. They charged me full monthly price for something used. Mr, Rolando was contacted by me and tended to argue with me in regards to this. Mr. Lenny clearly told me on the phone this same day I called it was pre-leased. I have even called the regional manger and this Mr. Rodriguez switches his stories and lies. I have witnesses of what has happened since. I am tired of these type of people working in places where they rip people off and then lie. Now, this Mr. Rodriguez states that he spoke to the regional manger and that supposively he told him I did'nt want to comply. I told him he was being recorded and he got upset and said that they didn't want to do buissiness with me and they will come by for the furniture.

Sexist against women
I am a female employee of a Aaron's in Arkansas.That is all I can say to protect my job.I am the only female that works in my store.My boss is a fucking creep who cheats on his wife and tries to get with women customer's.He's a loser.He talks to me terribly when I mess something up...eventhough he hasn't told me something or taught me how to do it.He says sexist things and treats me bad.I'm so tired of it and I don't know what to do.I don't want to lose my job because I love it but he is being a real prick.Today he went as far as to insult my character.I wish I knew how to complain on him without getting caught.He is the worst.He forgets he tried to screw my friend..took us out partying and I know his wife..she has befriended me.All I have to say if he fires me for no reason or continues insulting me.I will tell his wife.AARON'S IS SEXIST!

computer not being fixed
I bought and paid for an XPS 410 computer and now that it is on it's extended warranty, they have kept it for 4 months and I keep getting the run around when I call or go by to see what progress is being done. The sales people tell me it is in service, for 4 months, get real.
My wife and I have bought many items from Aaron's in the 10 years we have done business with this company, but we will no longer patronize this store or recommend it to anyone anymore.

Dissatisfaction with service
Recently, we encountered a situation where our refrigerator went out. My husband and I contacted Aaron's in order to see about getting one to replace it. First, there was a problem with where we live in relation to the store location. However, two years ago, we used the same store to purchase a TV and computer set, without any problem. Danny, one of the associates at the Winchester store was supposedly trying to help us out. He told us that since they were the closest location, that they should be able to help us. Then, he told me that he didn't have a refrigerator to fill the specifications we asked for, he was still looking and would stay in contact with me. That was about three weeks ago. He has never phoned me, and when I call down there, for some reason he is either "out unloading a truck", "Just stepped out to the Food Lion down the way", or some other lame excuse. Finally, yesterday, I spoke with another associate, Phillip, who said he would try to get some information from Danny and get back to me. I called Phillip today and was told "Sorry, but the District Manager says we cannot have an account that far out". I am very dissatisfied with Aaron's, I used to tell everyone how great they were to deal with and even recommended them to several of my friends. I won't anymore, that is for sure.

to many to put in this box
When I first began dealing with Aaron's it was to get a computer. Things were going pretty well until I had some problems with my computer and then it was like pulling teeth to get them to do anything to fix the situation! At the time I was in a nursing home going through physical rehabilitation as I am suffering from MS, am wheelchair bound & had just gone through a traumatic experience that left me near death (I also have a liver condition leaving me with only 1/4 of a working liver) well I lived & after being released from the hospital is when I was placed in the nursing home for rehab (I just turned 40 so I am not all that old) anyhow I went over my contract which stated that if my computer was not working thenAaron's was to supply me with a loaner until mine was fixed. Instead, I was stuck for TWO MONTHS with a non functioning computer which of course the expected to get their PAYMENTS on! The GM even LIED and said he stopped at my facility to pick up my computer but I was not there. Come on where would I be at 7-8p.m at night when I was not permitted off the grounds, the local bar?Give me a break! This man Joe Buckner has harassed me, cheated me, run yes run my credit card without authorazation not once but twice! (I may be wrong, but I do believe this is against THE LAW!!!) Now after I got out of the nursing home and moved into my disabled, hud apartment I had nothing except my clothing and the computer that finally did get fixed by the very best employee Aaron's DID have (I use past tense as this employee has left Aaron's because he could not stand the way Joe was treating customers, cheating customers and how he (Joe Buckner) thought/thinks it was/is funny to over charge clients and believe me I can get witnesses to EVERY claim I am making here today and it is sad. So, now I need furnature for my apartment so against my better judgement I got a living room set & a bed room set. Ihave the contracts for these, I have made payments on these and I believe I am one payment behind however now they are trying to charge me for a matress (queen size, pillow top, simmons beauty rest) I have gone over & over the contracts & the mattress is not on any of them so there for I have been paying between $65.00 & $69.00 for a mattress that I have no contract for so is this not illeagle? Isn't it illeagle to take money from a customer for merchandise for which they have no contract? Illeagle to run a persons credit card not once but twice and by the way I have found some charges on that credit card that I am filing with the police department as fraud as they are charges that I did not make and Aaron's had my card number on file & Joe Buckner has already proven he can not be trusted with credit card numbers (thank goodness I changed to a different credit card company to receive my SSI/SSDI checks on a diffrent card so that Joe Buckner no longer has my credit card number) Now Mr. Buckner is trying to come and take my furnature on thurdsay! So now I am asking for help. These people have gotten away with over charging me, they have gotten away with abusing their clients, like me and now they want to take away the furnature of a disabled client so I need help and quickly so if there is anyone out there who can help me, please, please, please, contact me ASAP. Bad customer service
The manager Dave should be fired. Like every salesman, he promised to honor a price and then when no one was around he suddenly had a case of amnesia. I think this was a very horrible first time shopping experience. Please heed my warning and stay away from this location.

Stolen Property
I recently leased a laptop computer from Aaron's back in February. The following month my residence was burglarized and the laptop was stolen along with some other things. I filed a police report and everything just for Aaron's to say that I was still responsible for paying on some merchandise that is no longer in my posession. Aaron's makes you pay about $9 extra which is suppose to be insurance. I find it hard to believe that this company would still hold a customer liable for something that was beyond their control but at the same time the same so called insurance covers fire, wind damage and etc.

Sales associate peeping into my bedroom as I was sleeping
On Oct. 9th Aaron's representatives made a home visit to " discuss my account" I have been ill and was resting in my bedroom when I heard footsteps near my window ( I live in a basement apartment and my windows are at ground level) I noticed someone listening and looking into my window. I had no idea who it was. I quickly ran to the front window and saw the Aaron's box truck pulling away. I felt violated, I was in the safety of my own home and of all places, I should feel safe and secure in my home. What's worse is that the item we still owe on ( a tiny $133.00, FINAL PAYMENT, already paid over $1000.00 on it). My husband was in a horrible accident that has prevented him from working and after SEVERAL conversations with the Manager we assured him that the final payment would be made as soon as the insurance check arrives. The manager was EXTREMELY RUDE and REFUSED to give us the name and number for the General or District manager to form a complaint. I will be calling the police and pressing charges against the Aaron's employee(s) who committed this act of privacy invasion.

Unauthorized Charges
We have been dealing with Aaron's for a while now. At first we thought they were very nice, and their prices very reasonable in comparison with other rent to own companies.
However, around August 1st I used a credit card to make a partial payment of $75 on my account for an item that is almost paid off. They took the payment, and then we noticed a transaction on our checking account for approximately $116. The company did not have permission to make this transaction (which was off a different card we had used previously for payments) and they are now saying since we were a little late on our payment that they had the right to make the transaction. Of course we know that legally they did not have the right, and have filed a dispute with our financial institution.
Now we have people from collections at Aaron's calling us every day, and sometimes more than once a day demanding payment. They have admitted they took the credit card payment of $75, and also the $116 when at first they denied taking the $116 or blamed another employee for doing so. If they took all this money we would be paid off and they shouldn't be collecting anything. We have sent copies of bank statements and filed e-mail complaints but it is like banging your head against the wall. Now we know why the good ones at the local stores do not stay very long; they go on to better places.
Our next step is to file complaints with the corporate office and the Better Business Bureau. At least with the BBB the complaint will be there for other potential consumers to see.

Harassment!
On July 2nd i was told by a co-worker that my general manager had made a remark about another female employee smacking me on my butt, which wasn't true but he said making the male employees to turn around and watch me. He told them that they missed it and that they should have seen it. When the male employee said that he was saying things about me that was at the end of the work day and we were already walking out of the store to go home. I decided to come in early the following day which was July the 3rd to talk to him about his comments since i was the sales manager. Right away he became very defensive and blamed me, telling me if i really want to work there because i was starting to start trouble now. He didn't denie it in fact he said he didn't know what my problem was. He basically said this is what it is and if you want to work here you have to take it. Well over the next couple of days he made it very impossible to train me, we wouldn't so two weeks later he fired me telling me it just wont work out.
