I purchased a mattress from Aaron's in April of 2010 under the guise I was doing so on a 90 days same as cash basis. The mattress was delivered to my home and I signed the agreement admittedly not reading every single line of the agreement. I made each payment on time and each time would get a balance of what was owed by the representative I made the payment to and I would also express how nice it was that they did 90 days same as cash and how nice it would be for the mattress to be paid for in 90 days. Finally the last payment was made in June and I was told my balance was ZERO. This morning, six months later I received a monthly statement in my email from Aaron's. I called the store and spoke with a manager who in a nutshell told me that I should've read my contract more closely and I was told that I hadn't heard anything from them in six months because I didn't owe a payment until now and that when I was making all the payments in the 90 day window that I was just paying my agreement up a few months and that I still owe 9 payments at $47.05 each and trust me the mattress is so not worth that much more. He also said as far as why noone ever said anything to me that I wasn't paying toward 90 days same as cash and why I was given the false balance each time he couldn't say becase he wasn't working there then. I have reported this to the BBB and Consumer Affairs. This is very poor business practice and completely taking advantage of the public. I would not recommend dealing with Aaron's to anyone.
