put chip in computer didnt tell me
been renting from aarons for many years took my laptop to be fixed i got it back from aaron s like 3 weeks later then had made a payment arrangement with an employee they didnt tell the other employee next thing you know they had disconnected my computer from there store without telling me they had put a chip in there without my knowledge so anytime they feel like it they just turn my computer off so i cant use it mind you been paying on this used computer winch seems like forever dont rent from aarons got to be something illegal about it makes me think they can see everything on there as well if they have so, much control over it

keeps your money
I started dealing with Aarons out of necessity and it did not take me long to realize some of the many ways they rip their customers off. Each month when you make your payment they try to keep the change due from what you hand them to apply to your account (they say), but the fact is that money is never credited and you still owe the same amount of payments. I put a deposit on an appliance because mine stopped working and not 1 hour later I cancelled my purchase after my landlord replaced the appliance and when I called the store they talked me into applying the deposit to my account and it was NEVER credited and to this day I know it went into the store managers pocket. He told me everytime I asked for my refund that it was paid to my account which was a lie. My local store practically insists on cash only payments and today while the manager was trying to sell me everything in the store as I repeatedly said NO because of their treatment of me, he failed to give me a receipt for my payment so bright and early tomorrow I expect my phone to start ringing off the hook and someone rudely asking for a payment which I;ve already made.

privacy issue
I got a contract with them i miss one payment they started calling my work and calling my co worker harrassing her and telling her they are looking for me and they came down my house trying to find me. I understand if she is in my references list, but she not it just happened we work in the same company they started harrassing her about me totally ruined my reputation in my work place.

Rude Treatment
I had perfect credit up till 2 yrs ago due to a BK from a divorce. I wanted to re-establish my credit. I did not want to buy a car or do credit cards but was told from my accountant that you should go to a place and by a big electronic item and finance it for about a year then pay the item of. I said sounds good, I went to the one off bell and 19th ave and let me tell you they are so rude and there horrible in customer service and they treat everyone like shit that comes there...I would know I am in the car business and have been in the business for the past 13 years. I have learned over the years we do not judge people in our life because you don’t know what their situation is. There way of doing business is sell the product and forget the customer.
The funny part is I could send them a lot of business but that will not happen.

Payments and their "system"
First, I WAS a loyal Aaron customer, in Austin, TX. Bought many, many, many items. Due to family death, had to move to OK to help out. Went to the nearest (at that time) Aaron in Yukon, OK. They were very EAGER to do business when they ran my credit check (<---) they say they don't...seeing I was a long time customer. Here's the catch...I received my tax refund. I wanted to pay off my TV, so I called first (ice and snow on ground) to make sure what I was going to do worked. I ask, "If I pay 3/4 of my account off, I will owe ___ (I said my balance), he said "Yes". I said I know I would still get charged interest on the balance, but..I would pay that next paycheck. They took my payment, ran it through (Telechek) and that was that...but...when I ask for a receipt with my balance..that's when all the crap floated to the surface. Apparently, now AFTER the payment, I owed MORE than when I walked in the door???? The store manager, WHO I HAD SPOKE TO ON THE PHONE, WHO LIED TO ME, says, "Oh our system is set to take half your payment towards principle and half towards interest...WHAT???? SO, I PRE-PAY INTEREST??? He acted like it was quite funny...and said that's the way the system works!! At that point, I said, I want my payment back. He says, "We can void it, but...get this...Telechek will keep it tied up for 5-7 days!!! THAT'S not what Telechek told me when I called...SO..I had to spend money for a stop payment!! AARON'S NEED TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS AND WE PAY THEIR PAYCHECKS, KEEP THEM IN BUSINESS AND ARE THE BACK BONE OF RENTAL!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER AARON'S PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE!! THEY ARE RIP-OFF ARTIST (with a license to steal from customers!)

Unprofessional
I'm a very loyal customer to Aarons. I usually buy all my products for the Macon location, but me and me husband recently bought a house in Forayth. When I went to the store I picked out a very nice living room set. But I didn't purshase it that same day. I actually waited until my husband went by to look at it.About a week later I purshesd it and has gadcit for about four months know. The young lady who sold it to me was very nice. Actually her name is De De...but make a long store short ice been having some fibanical problems so this same young lady began to call my house about a payment that was due...I told her my problem and she agreeed to work with me. So I made a payment a week later so now everything was back on track.. Two days after I made my payment I get another call from her about my payment. I told her I had made my payment and she aplogized and we hung up. About an hour later the phone rings and it was private # so I didn't answer. My husband asnerrd but he didn't abswr until about 5 rings. So we picked up at the same time and I heard her on the other line telling my husband to meet her after she got off at the Green Durby Hotel.. I left the house right after he left and followed him and there she was there waitingbom him.. I was so hurt to find put that this young lady was sleeping with my husband . How unprofessinal can you get., I'm tired of get calling his cell phone at all times of the night. De de leave my husband alone and find your own man. Why are you trying to break up a happy home?

Bad Customer service
I leased a computer from a local Aarons in Ky, and the sales reps in that store were rude from day one. I honestly don't know why I went there in the first place. They charge $600 well over the store bought price, and you would think there customer service would be great with how they screw people. I was a week past due on my payment one month because I had my jaw wired shut for 6 weeks and I was getting so 5 to 6 calls a day with threating voice mails about how I was ignoring there phone calls and that I haven't even attempted to call them back. They don't take into consisderation of what type of situation a customer may be in. They just are so rude and it has been the worst experience I have ever had with a store. I would never recommend them to anybody.

"Chronology of Events"
8/31/2009
1. BBB -- Checked with BBB and wrong phone numbers are posted on the website -- I called and was told that was not the office and they had no knowledge on where that would be at. I then proceeded to say that the BBB showed this phone number together with this address and only at that time I was notified of the President office being behind their building. At that time I was put on hold and waited for 17 minutes and I finally disconnected.
5/10/2009 - 8/31/2009 "Research of Cunsumer Complaints"
2. There have been MANY consumer complaints against Aarons and their way of doing business.
6/2009 and a final attempt on 8/31/2009
3. We as consumers have no access to a Corporate Office, when we call we are told each branch is independently owned. How do we supposed to file a formal complaint against such franchise?

4. Called Customer Service and they were once again unable to help and claimed they could only deal with present clients not previous. Spoke to: Mikira Gatti- rep claimed she had no employee number and opted to give me her last name.
5. 4/30/09
Branch Manager Jason- Cedar Park Office has declined our phone calls and much less honor the so called policy he mentioned at time of pick up. Jason mentioned the following:: " Aarons has a program to where consumer can re-activate account once they are back on their feet." Such policy is not mentioned on Lease Agreement. After acquiring property from our house, Jason declined every attempt from our side to satisfy account. This morning was my last attempt and when I mentioned the so called (false) policy he proceeded to say: "It's only for consumers who pay on time". Why would he even mention this? Obviously consumer is not going to be on time if Aarons has to pick up merchandise, right? This is false information for consumers and a way to easier remove/retain merchandise to keep profiting from such. "Many attempts were done to contact Branch Manager with NO luck".
August 31, 2009 @ 8:40 am -- Last Attempt
As per our conversation this morning I hereby demand a copy of my contract agreement on the:
42" LCD HDTV FLAT - Item # 1210557828 -- Model -- 42PF7421D SKU-- 7301LD4
It's my right to have a copy of this contract which was never given to me. It was never given to me due to the terms on contract being different from what I initially requested. I hope that by this time you have had a chance to look at our initial contract for the AMANA 26 SXS REFR -- I do hold a contract on this and can very easily see the discrepancies. Since you have chosen to work an agreement that would be fair for both parties I have decided to sue your company under a small claims court. Based on the evidence I have and knowledge I possess I don't see the need of hiring an attorney since the facts speak for themselves. If your company wishes to settle with me before going to court I must let you know what I request the following:
1. "NEW" TV of same quality or better-- Same size -- TV was used at time of purchase, TV was also made in 2006. Aarons has more than tripled the money on
such merchandise. Consumer amount paid: $1611.94
2. Amana refrigerator that belonged to consumer -- Item # 1210770929 SKU -- 7405AB6 Model# -- ASD2620HRB -- Or better-- Consumer PAID amount $ 1645.22
3. A reimbursement amount of $1000 due to negligence from Aarons and or added late fees/harassment and denying consumer the right to obtain property back.
Consumer spending time trying to reach a peaceful settlement with Aarons. Settlement denied by Jason - Branch Manager
When I started this agreement the request from our part was a 12 month agreement, instead one time we received a 24month then 18 month and as shown on the agreement the final contract was 5 monthly payments of $119.05 for 5 months starting January 1 2008. Clearly it went beyond the initial terms of the leasing agreement. If you should want to settle, I give 48 hours for a response from your corporate office or yourself. Also I must mention that Aarons took advantage of our financial situation and decided to execute contract under no mercy. As we all know the country is under a recession and our President has changed/implement new laws to better help consumers, one of those new Laws is for banks/financial institutions to start cutting APR/Rates and late fees. I will not let anyone else be your victim.
