Poor documentation of cancellation policy, hurdles to cancelling gym membership
Seconding the views of another complaint against ABC financial services, this is a company that makes the actual steps to cancel a membership difficult to discover, and the process is arduous. ABC Financial Services provides the billing service for Sweat Fitness here in Philadelphia. On the Sweat Fitness contract, the cancellation policy states that a certified letter, with receipt confirmation, be sent to ABC Financial Services. One slight problem, there is no mailing address provided. Scanning the fine print the contract, the best one can do is that the Electronic Funds Transfer is set up through ABC Financial Services, Inc ("The Company"), Sherwood AR 72124. That's not a complete mailing address, of course. Going to their website is not helpful; going to their 'Contact Us' page is set up for businesses wishing to use their billing services, not for customers. Of course, no mailing address is provided. I tried calling customer service on the weekend but of course they were closed.
The intent here is clear... this is a business looking to make business for itself and is not intent on provided good customer service for the end users, i.e., gym members looking to cancel a policy. If the latter were the case, they would provide a simple, clear online option, provide a readily discoverable mailing address, and would not require an arduous cancellation policy-- a certified letter with return receipt to cancel a gym membership- come on! I can navigate changes to my car loan and home mortgage payment with far less hassle.

They continued to charge me for the gym membership
I joined a gym that employed the use of ABC Financial and my findings were this.
1. I contacted aforementioned gym about canceling my membership before said year contract was up. They did not say anything about having to fax a letter to this service for them to cease charging me.
2. When I did fax a formal letter Nov.9th, my account remained “pending” until Jan.4th during which they continued to charge me for the gym membership.
3. They have no reasonable explanation for this nor do they for a “30 day processing period”. I cannot imagine a gym membership being so difficult to cancel.
I would not advise this service to anyone.

Scam and cheating
My daughter and I have a gym membership and the payments go to ABC financial. Mine is taken out through my credit card, I pay my daughter's with a check. I am receiving letters the last two months that I have not paid August's, and September's dues. They state in letter that it is a collection letter. I sent a copy of my August check and now they say my Sept and Oct amount is overdue and I have sent them. I am getting very upset over this and will call them again I did talk to them before.
I do plan on canceling my membership, both of ours due to this issue. I am also going to let the gym know the problems. They are dealing with a very unscrupulous company. I would advise no one to sign a contract if they know ABC is involved. I am just hoping to get this matter settled.
