I shipped a commercial shipment to an account in Ohio from New York with ABF, and the cost was under $300. I shipped about twice as much to Oregon, and I thought I would get a similar rate.

Instead, I was called while the shipment was en route that it would cost over $2000. They want to make it my fault for not having verified the rate on this shipment. They told me that they could lower the rate only to $1636, and on getting a new quote from them and from other companies, every quote came in at $950 or less.

Because they are headquartered in Arkansas, it is not practical for me to seek further redress, but I will make sure I never use this freight company again.
