I chose ABM Vanlines because of a quote I received online and per phone. The quote was for $ 1000.00 for 2000lb, if I did my own packing. The movers arrived as agreed, and began loading my things. I asked them repeatedly about an estimate of my weight, and if they thought I exceeded the 2000 lb. The foremean assured me that I was right at, or even below 2000lb. I told him that I would get rid of more things if he thought that I exceeded that weight, but he again assured me that I was probably only slightly over the 2000 lb. When the loading was finished I was presented with 2 bills, totaling $2000.00 instead of the $ 1000.00 I was quoted. The extra charges were for wrapping my few furniture pieces, and I was not told about there being any charges for that. The next day I received a phone call from the company, that my total weight was 2000 lb. The person who called me was extremely rude and unprofessional, and did not answer my questions about the wrong estimate by the moving foreman. She also lied about my receipt, and said it said 4000 lb, instead of the 2000 lb it actually showed.
