Dear Sir,
My name is Lanil Sequeira residing in India (Mumbai) and working for ABN AMRO BANK (INDIA).Myself and my 4 colleagues had come for training to Hongkong on December 2nd 2007 and returned to Mumbai on March1st 2008. At the Indian airport one of my colleague was caught by 2 custom officers as he was carrying 8 watches, that he had bought for his family and relatives. The custom officers fined him Indian rupees 1000 and they told him you can carry only 1 watch. My colIeague had no gold or silver items wid him neither he had any electrical appliances.I want to know that as per the INDIAN CUSTOM RULES a person staying abroad for 3 months can bring back only 1 watch with him?if that's the case he cant even get watches for his own family? We 5 of us have come back to Hongkong as our training got extended on March 8 2008 and will be returning on June 7 2008, We don't want to face any kind of difficulty this time when we return to India in June, so could you please give me your feedback on my above querry and i would also want to know what's our limit on cameras and laptops.Sorry for all the trouble.Thank you very much for all your help.

Sub: Discrepancy in my Easy Cash Account EMI Amount
With reference to the above subject, I would like to bring to your notice that I have been billed excess EMI for the above referred Easy Cash Account from my 7th EMI billed on 10/07/07. Regarding the same when I contacted to your helpline officer Ms.Priya on 23/07/07 she confirmed me that there is a error in software due to which excess EMI amount (i.e. Rs.3083.75) reflecting in my statement. She advised me to make the actual EMI amount of Rs.2497.00 only and the excess billed in my statement (i.e.Rs.586.75) will be reversed in my next statement.
After all this communications when I received my next month statement dated: 10/08/07 as told to me the excess amount has been reversed, but once again my EMI Amount has been billed for Rs.3055.10. Regarding this once again when I contacted to your helpline Mr.Abhishek-Customer Relations officer he told me to make the actual EMI Amount of Rs.2497.00 only & assured me that the same discrepancy will not be repeated in future billing and the Error / discrepancy
will be sorted out at the earliest.
But unfortunately when I received my subsequent month's statements i.e.10/09/07 & 10/10/07. I was surprised to see that same discrepancy is still continuing and on top of it I have been charged late fees of Rs.458.27 + ST-Rs.56.64 and Rs.600
+ ST-Rs.74.16 respectively. When I Contacted your helpline service the same assurance I am getting what was told to me 4 months ago. I would like know is this the way of working in a leading "Multinational Bank " ????? and is there is
any value for your "commitments made to the customers " ????? and I am very much eager know is there is any "responsible person is working in this Bank " ????? I am extremely sorry to say all this, but the experience I had
with your bank making me to question the creditability of this bank.
Kindly requested to look into the matter and do the needful immediately without any further delay.
Yours truly,
N. SRIKANTH.

Discrepancies in Credit card Statement
Sir,
Sub: Discrepancies in monthly statement .
Ref: Credit card # 5415-3823-XXXX-8163.
With reference to the above I would like to bring to your notice the multiple discrepancies incorporated in my monthly statement by ABN-AMRO Bank. First of all, I’ve availed a loan of Rs.19,400/- on 23rd May,2006 (Easy Cash # 06143010116) and the EMI was set to Rs.1834/- for a period of 12 months. Every month I’ve been tendering more the Minimum amount due and the afore-mentioned EMI was completed on May 2007. But the subsequent statements (i.e., from June 2007 statemnets), has been reflecting some unknown charges of Rs.7100.87/-. Since June 2007, I've been complaining to ABN-AMRO bank and also sent several reminders but they did not respond to my complaints. Moreover, in the month of September 2007, the Bank has transferred a portion of my credit card outstanding into EasyPay for an amount of Rs.39,033.19 without my consent. I brought the same to the notice of ABN-AMRO, and the charges were reversed on 10/09/2007.
Again in the month of October 2007, the statement was reflecting Rs.7100.87/- towards EasyPay Principal balance . I brought the same to the notice of ABN-AMRO Customer care and the above charges were reversed on 11/10/2007 vide statement dated 08/11/2007.
The following are the summary details of November month statement.
Date Transaction details Balance
Opening Balance Rs.46,326.71
11/10 Easy reversal-Principal Debit Rs. 7,100.87 Dr
11/10 Easy reversal-Principal Credit Rs.7,100.87 Cr
24/10 Payment received Rs. 40,000.00
29/10 Call a Draft Rs. 30,000.00
29/10 Transfer to EasyPay Rs. 30,000.00
08/11 Easy Cash EMI 01/24 Rs. 1,455.00
08/11 Easy Pay Processing Fee Rs. 100.00
Finance Charge- Cash Rs. 413.15
Service tax Rs. 109.77
Total amount Due Rs. 8,404.63
As per my calculation the Total amount Due comes to Rs.8,404.63 whereas the Bank statement is reflecting it as Rs. 15,505.50. Also they have charged Duplicate Statement Fee of Rs.800/- on 09/11/2007 without my consent. I have availed Internet Banking facility from ABN AMRO bank long ago. As a result, I've all copies of past 2 years statement. So the question of Duplicate statement does not arise at all. Now I don’t understand why the bank has charged Duplicate Statement Fee. The ABN-AMRO bank is adopting unfair practices in their business.
I kindly request the concerned authorities to look into the matter and initiate complaint against the bank.
