I recieved a call from A.C.A Recovery representative "Linda Banks", she had claimed they were trying to recover a debt on behalf of Region Yellow Pages. She calimed she was from an attorneys office and that the original bill amount was for $479.95 but with late penalties had risen to $604.95. I had told her that i deal with the accounts payable and I have never heard a thing about this invoice. She assure me that my father whom I am in business with had authorized this call and asked if I would like to hear the recorded message. She played a very convincing memo of my father that had been clearly pieced together. We get calls from the yellow pages several times a week so I'm not suprised it was his voice. However I told "Linda" that i would not authorize any payment over the phone but I would allow her to fax me documentation and I would look it over. She also made a point to stress to me several times that this invoice was to be closed by 4p.m. eastern standard time to avoid legal issues. I asked my father about the invoice which he clearly knew nothing about. Then I called the number for the Regional yellow pages that was on the invoice to double check this informtation i was then told that they could not speak to me about the matter and I needed to make contact with the people who sent me the paperwork. "Linda" called back within 15 minutes to make sure I had gotten the paper work and to make payment arrangements. Her pushiness concerned me and so I googled the these companies and stumbled upon a mass amount of reports about this scam. "Linda" once again called me and stated "that they had given me until 4pm to review the paper work and that I needed to pay. I then told "Linda" that "I went through our companies voice recordings and had none on or around the stated date of the invoice." She argued that "it was clearly my fathers voice and there was no other reason beyond that toquestion her." I then told her "I would not be paying the invoice until this matter was cleared up. " She bbegan to get angry telling me "that's fine I will turn this over to litigation have fun dealing with a judge." After that she hung up on me. She called 3x from the number 201-336-1026 in Hackensack NJ
