Product Marketing Scam
There is no way to contact them. The only way you can stop the madness is to cancel your credit card. Do not replace it, cancel it. If you have an outstanding balance, open a new account and transfer the balance of the old card onto the new card. Then cancel the old card.

These people have no ethics and will keep going until you do that...

Here is my story:
/URL removed/

I kept thinking, "Why are there so many of these companies using this same technique?". If you look at every one of them, they all have the same business methodology:

(1) Offer a trial of the product (This is offering the product for free with a perception of "value" to the purchaser).

(2) Get mailing address and most importantly the credit card number.

(3) Put terms of the trial in gobollygook but spell out the trail time period - usually 14 days.

(4) Explain in the terms that the customer will be charged for the full monthly price after 14 days - usually $80.

(5) Most charges will never draw the $5.95 - they wait. Why? They do not want you, the consumer, aware the trial is about to expire.

(6) Do NOT allow the consumer to cancel by phone, only Email. And do not confirm cancellation (feedback loop).

(7) Do NOT accept a check only credit card.

(8) If customer cancels before the 14 days, the seller can stop shipment of the trial. If customer cancels after the 14 days, the seller lets them keep the 14 day sample, but charges $80 per the agreement.

(9) In all cases, they will get their $80 one way or the other.

OK, key factors are credit card, charge full amount, perceived value of product, legal but unethical terms.

Do a Google search on "14-day trial" and you can see this is an immensely popular form of marketing. This is referred to as a marketing strategy called GPT (Get Paid Today). The idea is based on volume. If I cancel when I see the charge, they pocket $80 on a unit cost of probably $2 because they package in bulk. Icing on the cake is if I do not cancel my credit card before canceling, these internet companies will take a second draw. They know that I may be out-of-state. How can I fight them?

I do not know what to do other than research specifics and log into every message board and speak your mind. I have notes all over Oprah's site under the moniker OilyBaby. I am very close to convincing myself to creating my own website and explain GPT. The marketers of GPT sell a course on GPT for $50 - but I already know right now how it works. Fortunately, I have ethics but I have put notes and comments everywhere.

In my case, I didn't return the pills. When I cancelled, I had already cancelled the credit card to prevent further charges. They told me all they would refund is $50 of the $80 if I had a valid card - they would not send a check (makes sense because I'd have their bank name). However, I read enough horror stories where they "claimed" the account was still open while the pills were sent back and zinged the account for an additional $80 before closing the account. To me, it was $80 of a lessons learned. I did tell them, though, that I was going to start a war they were going to regret. They told me, "you can do what you want, your account is closed". I read this as telling me, "Who cares about you. We got you for $80 and there is nothing you can do about it."

When I found out Acaiberrymaxx.com was also owned by Hitchfinder Com, Ltd (The customer service even verified that they are owned by the same person), I put a scathing business review out on Hitchfinder in Google business review notes.

I say we just keep the heat turned up on these folks. We can't save everybody but we sure can put a dent in their profits.

How would I do it next time? Give them the credit card and a P.O. Box. After the order is made, cancel the credit card and once the shipment has arrived, cancel the P.O.Box. Hit as many sites as possible all at once in one day with the one credit card, then immediately cancel it the next day claiming that someone unauthorized the opening of the account and have it flagged for any charges. You could quite literally clean up on hundreds of free trials and not pay a dime.

THAT is the only way to fight them. If enough people did that, they would have to stop. Will they follow up to check or do a lawsuit? Doubtful... Too many fish in the sea.

can't reach them to cancel
I ordered the sample back in November and when it came I wanted to cancel future deliveries until I knew whether or not I wanted to continue using the product. There was no phone number on the invoice. There wasn't really an invoice and the site didn't seem to exist. Therefore, I had no way to reach them to cancel. I never received a December delivery so I thought I was safe. Today I received a double delivery, they're still not online and I have no phone number. I'll have to deal with it through my bank and see just how many charges have showed up on my account.
