After seeing an ad on the Oprah website, I ordered the 14 day trial of Acai Pure. After a few days, I received a call to confirm the order and during that call was upsold 2 other products - Green Tea Extract and Hoodia Water - also a 14 day trial and told I could cancel within 14 days and not be charged. I was not advised that either of these other 2 products had to be returned within the 14 days 0 just cancelled and then returned. I was also not told that I would be responsible for the return postage - as all came as 30 day supply not 14 day trial amounts- nor that I would be assessed a restocking fee.<br />
I received the 2ndary products on 6/4 and called to cancel in 6/16- 12 days later. When I asked for a shipping return the "Supervisor" Mr Portnoy was very rude and did not care to listen to my complaint. When I asked for a Supervisor- he just said he was it. When I asked for the return address so I could ship back- he told me to look at the back of the product. I asked again and he very rapidly spoke it-too fast for anyone to write down- he did this 2ce and when I finally said please speak slowly-he said other calls were waiting- he had no time and hung up. I did call back and speak to a nicer young lady-Kylie C- who gave me the address, the name of the company owner and and cancel confirmation number. Neither advised me that I would be charged if the products were not returned within the next 2 days (total 14 since receipt).<br />
On 6/25 my account was billed 2 fees of $38.95 which also resulted in 3 overdraft fees - as O did not plan on these charges and had taken care of other bills. I called the company bacon on 6/25 and spoke to a Kelly who advised me that I was supposed to have returned the product before the end of the 14 day trial in order to not be charged. (The product had already been shipped back and I have a deliver receipt of for 9:20am on 6/24). I was very upset but received little satisfaction. Although kelly told be that I was receiving a partial credit of 33.10 for each product as of today 7/8/09-I have not received it and have filed a dispute through my mastercard provider. This company is truly a fraud and takes advantage of consumers with shady information and horrible customer service.<br />
Thankfully my bank after seeing my documentation did rebate the 3 overdraft fees.
