I signed up for free trial of Acaiaslim. The only charge was to be $4.95 shipping charges. What they did not tell me was that when I clicked on the "FREE TRIAL" button, I was agreeing to have them automatically send me a bottle of acaiaslim every month and charge my credit card $79.95 each time. When I noticed two $79.95 charges on my credit card statement along with the $4.95 charge (the only one I had agreed to), I called them. I was informed that when I had clicked on the FREE TRial button I had agreed to this and the only way I could cancel it was to call them within 14 days and verbally tell them to cancel my subscription.

The first problem with this is that I had no idea that I agreed to that. The second is that I had not even received my free trial in the mail by the time I was to have called them to cancel. The third is that they hit my credit card twice in two weeks for $79.95. All this happened before I had any time to do anything about it...and of course they know this. It is the game they play with you.

When I called them, the customer service person told me all of this stuff that I didn't do and when I pleaded ignorance she agreed to reimburse me $79.95 to my credit card. What I didn't know at that time was that I had been charged twice. When I noticed the second charge, I called back and was told that they had been nice enough to credit me for one $79.95 charge but they would not do the second one because I had not called and cancelled my account. I had no idea I was even suppose to call. They said that didn't matter because I clicked on the button and when I did that it gave them the authorization to charge my credit card.

I went back and looked at the website and finally found at the very bottom in tiny print the word "terms". When I clicked on that it took me to a page that pretty much said everything the lady was telling me. BUT, that still doesn't make it right. The normal, average everyday person would not have any idea what they were doing or getting themselves signed up for until it was too late and the damage was done. My opinion is that this company is fooling people and setting them up to steal money from them.

So she credited me back for $79.95. They still got the second $79.95 and that was there intentions. Think of all the people that are going thru this same situation. At $80 bucks apiece, that adds up fast. These people know exactly what they are doing and it is not right. It is nothing more than theft.

The ONLY good thing I can say about this company is that the four times that I have called them to try and get this straightened out, I was able to talk to a customer service person that was from the United States and spoke very good english. Other than that, I have had to cancel my credit card, spend an hour on the phone with the credit card company filing the disputed charges claim and will have more paperwork to fill out from them and I am out $80 bucks.
