unauthorized charges
The commerical and web add claim you can order a free sample for $4.95. My card was charged the $4.95 plus 5 add'l. charges. On Feb 17, 2009 $4.95 was debited from my account supposedly for the shipping and handling. Then also on Feb. 17th an int'l fee of $.10 . Next on Feb. 19th I was charged $59.95. My account says that was for the AcaiBurn itself. Also on Feb. 19th I was charged $1.20 for another int'l. fee. Mind you, I have not received any more bottles of this product. On March 2nd, I was charged $9.95 for what is listed as a pending payment as well as an add'l. $.20 int'l. fee again. It looks as if this company is planning to nickle and dime me into the poor house without authorization. I definitely do not want any more of this product.

Not disclosing the medical small print
On top of the many, many complaints about their trading ethics, AcaiBurn do not tell you upfront and before you buy, about the very real risk of increased heart rate when using this product.
Given that many potential customers will be overweight, this is a very serious ethical omission.

The side of the bottle does warn against using this product when pregnant or breastfeeding - this is a standard warning on all similar products.

But buyers need to be aware that there are potential risks if you suffer from cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney or liver disease (all these are probable underlying conditions if you are overweight).

I made an error of judgement dealing with these people. I don't know if they are devious or just incompetent but, whatever, stay away.

Free Trial
Nothing is ever FREE! Like many complaints so far, I should have checked out this site earlier. I can not stress enough how annoying and frustrating this process is. I also ordered the Free14 Day trial and of course am being charged 59.95 for the 30 days they send to you instead. If you send back the 16 day (32 pills) than you will get the money back.. or we will see havent sent it back yet. The customer service reps are very rude and ill informed.. or so they are suppose to be. Also make sure you call all 3 numbers listed on the bill inorder to cancel everything or else you will recieve more charges. This company should not be promoted! Good luck if you have tried it, and if not do yourself a favour and don't.

Fees and charges
Read the terms and cond. There are fees down the page you won't see if you just check the box that says you read them. $9.95 a month and $4.95 a month. Don't be scammed by hidden fees. They charged me these fees even after I canceled and said they have no record of it. What are you gonna do? I'm calling my bank.

Best Way To Handle A Scam
OK, so you got sucked in by the web site and ordered the trial deal. Now you read a site like this one and find out that you are dealing with a scam. Stay calm. It can be worked out. Send everything back by USPS and request that the package gets signed for at the company. Then you have proof that they got their junk back. Cancel your credit/debit card ASAP and request a new one with a new number. This will keep them from charging you any further amounts. Then submit the form on the back of your credit card bill stating that the charges are fraudualant. The credit card company WILL go after them and they WILL get your refund. Don't bother calling Acaiburn customer service or any of their free contact numbers. They will just jerk you around and you will get even more frustrated. SEND ALL STUFF BACK. CANCEL YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD AND GET A NEW ONE. SUBMIT A CLAIM OF FRAUDULANT CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

autoship scam/product NOT Acai
AcaiBurn contains a nonexistent amount of actual Acai. Instead it is primarily Chromium Nicotinate, a very dangerous substance especially for smokers. Yet the website touts this product as Acai with absolutely no mention of it actually being a Chromium Nicotinate product.

Secondly, it is one of the many "auto-ship" scams found these days on the internet and even a careful shopper can get easily ripped off. The website does not clarify that the "two-week trial" is actually a full shipment nor does its terms of service.

In early January I ordered the trial shipment, beliveing that I could try it and cancel if necessary. Upon receipt, I read the bottle label, saw Acai listed, but wondered why it wasn't listed as the primary ingredient. Being unfamiliar with Chromium Nicotinate, I confused it with Chromium Picolinate (which is a safe way to take Chromium, a trace mineral).

I cautiously took one capsule. It made me violently ill. I called and canceled as the included materials instructed and thought that was the end of it. In late January, I found a pending $60+ charge on my online bank statement. A toll-free number was listed with the charge, so I called it. It was an automated message line ONLY. The message stated that it was only an automated customer information line and that the correct contact number would appear on my bank statement once the charge was processed. The charge went through--no accurate phone number listed, still only the automated message number.

During the time I waited for this "real" phone number to materialize, another pending $60+ charge popped up on my statement. By this time I was both furious and desperate to stop this "auto-shipment" barrage.

No longer waiting for this fictitious phone number to magically appear, I reached a company rep at www.AcaiBurn.com and opened a chat with him. He was unable to find any record of the original cancellation I'd placed (of course) and had to turn me over to his supervisor. As it turns out, the supervisor tells me that yet another shipment is already in transit, billed in advance and that all I could do was wait for it to arrive and return it for a single refund of only one of the $60+ charges.

While this second charge was still pending, I called my bank, but there was nothing they could do. Had it been a check I'd written, I could have placed a stop-payment on it. Much to my dismay, I learned that no such action is possible with online transactions.

Three bottles of this nicotine poison arrived in my mail. I returned it with both the cancellation confirmation number and the return authorization number I demanded during the chat at the AcaiBurn site. I am now monitoring my bank account for the promised "partial" refund. As yet, that has not been rectified.

In my opinion, AcaiBurn is an extremely disreputable company. Caveat Emptor.

Here's how to get your refund!!!!!!
I ordered AcaiBurn on January 16, got it on January 20, sent it back January 26, and tracked it back to the distribution site on February 6, 2009 and am still waiting for my refund. I have done alot of searching to find out why no one know anything. Here's what I found out AcaiBurn is distributed by EDS in Demoines, Iowa (515)-237-4435 which is where you are supposed to return your package to. When you call customer service they say it is the distrubting office that issues the refund. So when I finally was able to find this place and called them, of course they had no idea which department Acaiburn was sent out of. They said all refunds come from customer service, and that I sould ask to speak with a supervisor, which I just did. Guess what, I called and spoke with a supervisor and just like that after I told them that I had tracked down the distribution place and called them I am now being issued a refund. So I asked when was this refund issued? She was fumbling around with her words and said, what do you mean? I said I would like to know when the refund has been issued so that I can keep track of how many days it takes to get my money back. She finally said "oh it looks like it was issued on Monday, February 23, 2009, but I had called yesterday February 24, 2009 and they said they didn't know anything, how convienent!!! So my advice is to call customer service ask for a supervisor, then tell them that you tracked down the distribution place and spoke with them and then you should magically be told you will get your refund. After I was done talking to them on the phone I suddenly got an email stating that I was being issued a refund and should recieve it in about 6 days. So good Luck and I hope this helps!!!

Scam
COMPLETE SCAM!
The terms and conditions text is buried on their web site -- accessed through a text link at the bottom of the page.

To cancel your 'membership', you must call three different numbers. This is only divulged when you call the number provided in their T&C document.

Product was returned to them and delivered on 11-Feb-09.
Refund was issued on 23-Feb-09. (12 days later)

The mysterious $1 “Transaction Fee” that is billed along with the $4.95 “Web Access” and $9.95 “Membership” could not be recovered.

The web site uses logos from: “As seen on TV”; “60 Minutes”; “YouTube”; “CBS”; “MSNBC”; and “Google”. This is done to bolster their credibility. No doubt, the logos are being used without authorization.

While I was able to recover the charges made to my credit card – it took a number of phone calls and $5.60 in return mailing costs.

They had the use of my money for nearly a month – billed on 27-Jan-09 and refunded on 23-Feb-09.

My cost for this scam: $4.95 for the initial order, $2 in unrecoverable “Transaction Fees” and $5.60 in postage. TOTAL: $12.55.

If you’ve been scammed by these bottom-feeders, submit a complaint to the BBB and your state attorney general.

Acaiburn scheme
Let's be fair to everyone. Acaiburn has placed the details of their plans to enroll their customers in an expensive repetative sales scheme in the most obscure part of their promotions. Yes, it may be there, but not on the display pages where it promotes the FREE TRIAL. WELL, A FREE TRIAL SHOULD BE FREE AND THEIR PRACTICES ARE INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING AND DECEPTIVE. This is fraudulent and no legitimate product is marketed this way. And. . . it didn't work!
