Wording of advertisement then no response to email
I ordered a "Free Trial" of Acaipure diet pills but had to pay the postage of $19.95. There were no terms and conditions mentioned unless you read a very long and detailed advertisment and testimonials (which I stupidly did only after ordering!) I then saw that I had committed myself to paying $79.00 after 15 days and it would be a repeated order every month. I tried emailing them with the address shown on their "how to contact" section. (sales@acaipure-trial offer.com) but this was returned as a delivery failure. I then posted a request for my order to be cancelled on there advertising page. I am not suprised to find that I have had no reply and cannot now get in touch with them at all. I shall now have to go to my bank and cancel my credit card and request a new one which takes about 1 month here in Portugal!

TRAPPED, CAN'T CANCEL.
I have been taking the Acai Pure product for 10 days now. I am still waiting for my surge of energy, haven't lost a single ounce of weight and have become constipated. I understand from reading the medical as well as the promotional literature that the active ingredients being fat soluble may become destroyed if the fruit is not freeze-dried fast enough or have gone through other processing means. There is nothing in the scientific literature that substantiates weight-loss claims but it appears that Acai berry is a super antioxidant. Left at that, it would never have received the MEDIA HYPE that it enjoyed and wouldn't have commanded the heavy price tag that it now does. The phone number the company provided in their Email link is a number that is NOT BEING RECOGNISED AND WHEN I TRIED TO WRITE TO THEM, THE E-MAIL GIVES A MESSAGE: "WE CAN NOT SUBMIT YOUR REQUEST AT THIS TIME PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER" (I actually tried to send my message for several hours).
THIS MEANS THAT THERE IS NO WAY OF GETTING IN TOUCH WITH ACAIPURE.COM TO CANCEL ANY FURTHER ORDERS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO CONDUCT BUSINESS!!!
SURELY THIS IS ILLEGAL! IS THERE A LAWYER OUT THERE WHO COULD ADVISE WHAT COULD BE DONE TO STOP THESE PEOPLE CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?

unauthorized charges
I responded to an Internet ad for this diet supplement, acaipure. The only charge on the order form was a shipping and handling fee of 4.95. When I reviewed my online bank statement a few days later, I was charged 44.85. A few weeks later my card was charged an additional 39.95 for the Acai Pur trial. It took weeks to get intouch with the company because the wait time for customer service is 30 to 45 min. I finally got in touch with customer service and the degree of unprofessionalism was unbelievable. They argued the 44.85 charge. I was told, I ordered hoodiburst gum and hoodiwater and I didn't order anything other than the acai Pure trial. I asked to speak with a supervisor and the customer service representatives response was, " I'm not going to bother my supervisor with this". The phone conversation led me to believe the over charging was intentional. To avoid an further unauthorized charges, I canceled my card. I would like information on any legal actions that I as a consumer can pursue!!!

Fraud
I had the same experience and emailed oprah telling her how this company is misrepresenting her. The company is acaipure.com. last month I went onto that site to order the free trial of the acai supplement. Was told that I would only pay s&h. My account was billed $41.85. I immediately called them, after being on hold for 1 hr and 22 min I was disconnected. I then proceeded to send them 4 emails. All of which i received an instant reply back stating that someone from their company would contact me w/in 24-48hrs. which I took as truth. Well needless to say that is why I had to send 4 b/c each time after 48hrs of waiting-I sent another email. I finally had to go to my back and file a dispute and change my cc# so they could no longer draft again. today over a month later, i called and held for 35 min, at which to my surprise someone answered by the name of Amber. She then told me that she saw that they received my emails but it was up to me to go onto another site to search most asked questions. she said that they never intended on actually returning an email to me. When I told her I was billed the incorrect amount and contacted w/in minutes afterwards she said that even then they would not cancel the order, that "is not company policy". I asked to speak to a manager she replied "Ain't happening" I asked to speak with another agent since I did not like her tone and she said I could call back and hold again. I said to her how can you treat customers like this when they are supported by the Oprah show, and her reply was " she knows how we handle business and she gets a free subscription" . she was so rude to me I could not believe it. I have since filed a complaint with my bank for them to go after them for my money, changed my credit card # and 4 weeks later when the material finally arrived, I refused it. I just thought she (Oprah) and others should know that this is the way they do business. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NEVER ORDERING WITH THEM< THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. Has anyone gotten their money back when they did the dispute with their bank???

unauthorized charges
I was charged $44.85 when all I authorized was $4.95 for a free trial offer. they are continuing to bill my credit card after I returned the product unopened. Their 888 number advises you that you may have to wait an hour for a representative to answer. This is not something I am willing to do. Their website shows no way of contacting them. This is not fair business practice.

credit card fraud
I signed up for a simple trial order, risk-free, and was charged the month after that with some membership fee that I did not want. Whenever I tried to file a complaint, my order numbers that I had to plug in were deemed invalid, so I could not reach the company via email. In addition, every time I have phoned, the waiting period is at least 45 minutes long. I would like to cancel anything they have taken upon themselves to send me.

Credit card fraud
Posted on 30 November 2008.
This company continues its practice of charging the credit card with unauthorized charges. My card was also charged for $ 44.85, when the only charge I had authorized was for $ 4.95 for S&H for a "free" trial. When approached, they offered a "generous" discount of $ 20. I have instructed them to return all the un-authorized funds. I have notified my credit card company as well as file a complaint with Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov). I suggest everyone who has been scammed, file a complaint with FTC.
