Unsolicited calls
They say there is no problem with my account but to lower my interest rates press 1 - I have tried to get them to stop calling and they just hang up on me instead - they are not associated with my credit card companies. How can I get them to stop?

Scam Attempt
A representative has tried to call me several times. Today they reached me. They sound very professional because it begins with a computerized message option and asks you to press "1" to learn more. The representative sounded very concerned about how I could lower my interest rates and said I qualified because of my payments were on time, I had not exceeded my limit, and my account was in good standing. Then she said that in order to proceed, first she would ask for the telephone number on the back of the card. After this, she wanted the entire card number. At this point I refused but asked for additional information. She declined but tried to put me on hold. After I hung up, a man called me back, but since he was from an entirely different number I hung up. Oh yes, both reps sounded like they had an african american accent. The number the woman called from was 775-291-8524; The number the man used was 425-484-1814. Of course those numbers will probably change now that its published here. I don't want to bother with a BBB complaint because the form is so long--but also because I don't know--if this scam has been going on awhile, why has Florida taken so long to chase them down. But most likely, these scammers are different from the previous one.

say they can help with credit card balance
A recorded message when I answer the phone that directs me to push 9 to speak with a person and I have done that for the past 3 calls and have asked them not to call again. I do not have a credit card, there is no reason for them to call. The phone number on my caller ID is 768-284-8488. The person on the phone says the phone # is 800-654-7233. The last call came on 10/27/09 at 1:18 pm.

scammers
I got another "account services" call about lowering interest rates. I press 1 and I ask the company name, and they say "consumer services". I ask where they are based and they hang up.
It's not a valid phone number on the caller id. It says 561 733 4697
It's the same group as the Heather from Account Services scammers.

Daily phone calls
Heather calling with a daily urgent message about lowering interest rates on credit cards. I have been hung up on a number of times after asking to have my number removed. If they do not remove your number and keep calling this is against the 'Do not call" registry in Ohio. I also feel it's harrasment since they call every day. Where can I get some answers????

Telephone calls
Beware of "Account Services" calls. I have recently been getting phone calls on my home line. An automessage claims to be from Heather at Account Services about credit card / interest rates.
When asked they refuse to say who they work for other than "Account Services". When I ask to be removed from their call listings they simply hang up. The caller id number is not a valid number (last call shown on caller id as 772-664-4005 Sebastian, FL. I believe that the previous two calls came from an invalid listing in Miami FL) Given the "false" caller ID information provided it is impossible to call them back to find out who they really are or to speak with a supervisor / manager to get removed.
I am not sure how legitimate they are (they could be real, or just be complete scam artists and thieves for all I know) It is difficult to tell as they refuse to answer any direct questions, but the evidence from their behavior in consistently diguising who they really are and simply hanging up in such a manner suggests that they are some form of organized scam.

wont remove my number or take my call
I get a recording saying "this is Heather at Account Services. There is currently no problems with your accounts but if you'd like to reduce your interest..."
So I press "1" to speak to an agent and they hang up if I try to request to have my number removed.
The number they call from will not connect to a person. A recording says that the number is not in service and it is NOT a phone company message. It is one they generated.
How does a person get to these shady characters? How do you get them to stop calling?
