We had Across USA Moving and storage move us from Houston, TX to Edmond OK. Since the discharge date was the most important to us, we stressed that we needed the move to be offloaded on Oct 10th. After talking with your company, namely the operator Jazmine, Across USA decided that we would load on the 9th and discharge on the 10th. We agreed. Earlier on the week, they asked if they could load on Wed, the 9th, due to the religious holiday. We acquiesed. We were told that the movers would arrive between 8 AM to 10 AM, probably sooner than later. This is when the comedy of errors started. 1. Two movers showed up at noon (3 to 4 hours late). 2. Third mover showed up at 3pm (6 to 7 hours late). 3. We asked for crating of a glass table top (which we were charged for). They covered the glass table top in cardboard and tape. 4. The mattresses and boxsprings were not boxed up. The corners of one bed was tape up. One boxspring came uncovered strapped to the

OUTSIDE of the truck! 5. The movers didn't finish loading until midnight. 6. Then they tried to charge me $1250 over the estimate. 7. Sir, I have been through several moves. I KNOW that my move was less than 7, 000 lbs. We have two WRITTEN estimates from Van Lines and Berger Allied that states that our goods were less than 7, 000 lbs and guarenteed quotes of $3, 600. 8. We finally negotiated over the phone and agreed to $4000, but of course you held my goods hostage until this was paid for in cash. 9. Of course, the discharge date which we settled on was not in play as you delayed my shipment until we came to an agreement. We did not receive the goods until 11th. Now, since our deal was based on cubic feet and not weight, I can see your side of the story. But since the vast majority of moving companies use weight as their standard issue of fees, I would think that there must be an average conversion. Now I can't believe that I have the most volumous

furniture in the world and that my goods are less dense than everybody else's. This is what I feel would be reasonable. I paid $4000, my original estimate was $3000 which included $250 for crating (which was never done) and $180 for "materials" which included mattress boxes which were never done. I think that I am entiled for the original estimate less the crating for a refund of $1250. 10% over the estimate is reasonable. A 30% surcharge is not.
