Fast Cash Scam
Someone kept calling me by the name of Ryan Moss from ACS (which clearly wasn't his real name, was a heavy Indian accent) and leaving messages on my work number saying it was of urgent matter that I called him back and if I didn't, the best thing he could do would be to wish me luck for all the things that befell me. It was pretty clear that what he was reading was a script as the messages never changed and were verbatim. The number of my phone showed up as 612-852-3610 but he kept leaving a number of 626-236-9901 to call him back. Fed up, I finally answered it, and he promply confirmed my name and asked that I supply my lawyers name. I told him I didn't have one, and then he asked if I was going to be in court the next day. I mentioned I did not know what he was talking about, and he acted surprised that I didn't know of my court date (don't you need to be served papers for court in person?!?!) He went on to say that he had an affidavit and then held up a bunch of papers to the phone like he was shuffling through imaginary paperwork. He told me I couldn't interrupt him during his reading of the affadavit. Basically charging me with theft, fraud, and something else, he said that he was in charge of taking me to court for unresolved debt with Fast Cash and that the charges would be nearly $5000. After a bunch of questions asking him who he was (I asked what his website was, and he blew up and said it was ridiculous that I didn't trust him or his validity for his company - please note, the website I used to file this report may be incorrect, but it was the only ACS collection agency I could find on the internet). I told him I'd meet him in court then, and he said that he couldn't meet me since he was in California and court was in my home state of Minnesota. I then asked what he wanted me to do...and he said that he could settle the matter out of court for a mere $900 some dollars. I told him that I would contact Fast Cash instead to figure out why they still claim I owe them money, and he said that no, they didn't have time to talk with me direct and that he was going to settle it for them. I told him I'd try to take care of everything without his help because I didn't trust him. He proceeded to tell me that he was going to send the litigation to my employer (ummm, why not me, since I haven't gotten it?) and let them know how bad of an employee they have. I hope they do, as my employer would probably help me sue them for defamation. Long story short, don't let these people scare you into payment. Their practices are totally deceptive and illegal. He said at the original time of the call that I was being recorded...at the end of the call, I asked if he could potentially send me a copy of the recording. He hung up.

ACS taking over Wells Fargo Student Loans
ACS is taking over Wells Fargo Student Loan -- in an effort to make sure my history matches what is transfered over here's what Im finding out. Ive been making payment --they are saying Im delinquent status at a certain point (270 days) they can garnish wages... WELL my last payment to Wells Fargo i.e... of $257 was NOT credited in full --they are only showing $130 payment. HELP!! Of course, I don't want to send anymore payments. I have called WellsFargo for a payment history...and I will do my part to compare w/my bank I was making payment thru. THIS IS CRAZY!! ALL THIS SHOULD BE A RED FLAG!! NOW I have to spend time/energy/money to fight this. What recourse does one have for this? With all the CROOKS AND CRAZINESS w/financial institutions, there should be some recourse. Im seeing complaints on-line. Any advise!!? People do your homework on payment history --

Unwanted calls
I keep getting calls from this place where they are not speaking very good english and tell me I owe $782.00 on payday loan (I never took out and there is no record when checked with my bank). They keep calling relentlessly and have even harrassed my 13 year old child, saying someone is going to show up at my house and that I am really home etc, and in fact, I was at work! They want to talk to my attorney and when I try and get their information, they will not give me anything in writing or verbally. What a scam!! How do I make them stop? I am not going to be harrassed at home nor at work for something I did not do! This ACS needs to be stopped!!

cash advance from Cash Advance Usa
Name of caller was Andy Brown - complaint was that I had taken a cash advance of 700 dollars from cash advance usa and had not paid it back.

I have never taken a cash advance from anyone and when i tried to pin him down for any particulars he could not offer any so I suggested he go ahead and serve the papaers and in the meantime I would be contacting the FBI fraud division as I live in a different state. He kept claiming that i could not call any law athourity and that they have no jurisdiction. I then asked for a docket number and file numbeer which he could not supply so I explained my choice to go to the local law and also the fbi with the infromation I had and he hung up.

Loans
Today i recvd a call 2/8/2011 From a man named David Smith ( NOTE: Heavt Indian Accent ) He was calling because he said that i was being sued for a pay day loan that i got a year ago. NOTE: i been BK for 2 years, not heading in the direction again. Anyhow, I remember the name of the company he said was Cash ADvance USA. This lite up a light bulb. Just last month i got a call from the same talking tone, different number, different company. Same Spiel, i googled the phone number and a list of complaints came up from people that had gotten the same call as i did. I reported them to the FBI, ETC. After I lite up, i thought, Im going to take sail on this boat. So he proceeded with his speech, and i talked over him and asked " Are you proud of what you do? " He said " Mam, what you mean?" I said " Are you proud that you feed your family having a job that consist with scamming people for money. How do you sleep at night?" He said " Whatever Mother f****er!" And hung up on me. My advice, report it every chance you get. Check often on your bank or savings account. Credit check ETC. Say what they will, take me to jail, otherwise stop calling me dude, your wasting my minutes SMH!

Trying to force me to pay money
For the past several days my friends and myself have been harrassed by this company who call themselves ACS. A man who identified himself as Scott White and Jeff Williams 347-286-7380 have made threats of sueing me and or my friends if I don't authorized them to debit my checking account for $350 today. They claimed there is no paperwork with heavy accents. They said I own money to a company called Advance Cash USA. I don't have any knowledge of this company and how they got my information is scary. I have obtained loans before, but not from this company because I have no record.

The WORST student loan company
I'm glad to hear I"m not alone with this awful company but am sorry other people have had to deal with them. My biggest complaint is pure stupidity with the customer service representatives. First of all, everything is a huge timeconsuming ordeal. To enroll in automatic payments (Checkmate program) you have to fill out a form with a voided check and wait several months for it to take effect. Most companies offer online services and changes are effective within a month. When I switched bank accounts I called to cancel my automatic payments a week before my payment was due and made a payment through my new bank. Of course ACS didn't cancel the automatic payment and took a payment from my old account, causing overdraft fees and a huge mess. Why would it take over 5-7 business days to cancel a payment? The customer service representatives have always been very rude, hard to understand, or just plain retarded.

At one point I was unemployed and requested a forbearance on my loan. My federal loan company said no problem, fill out this form, and within a week it was taken care of. With ACS I filled out the form, waited three weeks, finally called and was told they were waiting for the guarantor to respond and I was still responsible for payments. A few weeks later I received a letter saying my request was denied. This company doesn't give a shit about any of its customers. If I could find another company that would offer loans to people out of college I would switch in a heartbeat.

The next issue is the way they apply payments. My monthly due date is the 14th and if I make a payment a week early it will apply the payment but doesn't count towards the minimum due, making your account delinquent. I'm starting to also wonder if my accrued interest isn't being calculated properly. After 2 1/2 years a majority of my payment is still going towards interest and my minimum payment is constantly changing. On a $124 payment, only approximately $30 is going towards principle. Does anyone know how the interest is calculated?

Fraud
I just received a call today at work from someone claiming he was Steve Jackson. I also talked with someone who said his name was Richard WIlson. The two numbers I was given were (722) 225-2107 and (722) 245-2107 This person has an accent of I guess middle eastern or Indian. Very hard to understand. This so called collection agency claims that I owed them 685.00 for a payday loan. I didn't ask when this loan was taken out, but I know I did not take out this so called loan because I never received the funds. There is only one loan I took out a few months ago which is also when I believed this company got my information and started calling me to collect this money. I have only spoken with them just today for the first time and have come to realize it is a scam. I was very close to making the payments but something got me to thinking about a couple of things. One, they wanted a photocopy of my drivers license. This is what made me think because no payday loan I have ever done that was online has ever asked me for my drivers license. I also visited the website for Advance Cash USA to see if maybe I had an account that I didn't know about and could not find anyplace on their site to log in. I called their number and did not get an answer. I have another payday loan that has not been paid yet so I checked to see if maybe their collection agency was calling me and found that their agencies name is AIS and not the one that has been calling me all day today. So the realization has set in with reading other peoples complaints with the same company. I am now confident that this is not something that is my responsibility because this loan never existed.
