Shoddy installation/customer service
December 10, 2009 our old garage door was replaced by this company. I know installer was not qualified because when he was done and you looked at the door, it was gapped on the top right side and didn't go up nor down smoothly. I called Action Doors at which time they said they'd send out another person the next morning...no apology...no surprise which tells me that this happens all the time wtih their service. Another installer arrived the next day and verbally says he can't believe the previous installer left the door that way. The tracks the door runs along was installed incorrectly so he proceeded to "fix" it which instead of taking the tracks down, he just retro pushed and pulled it so it looked even. So, one year and three months later after purchase and installation, I go out to garage after pressing automatic opener button and the door totally comes off track on right side and bends the top 1/3 of garage door. I call the company and once again get terrible service...no apology...nothing! He proceeds to tell me that I'll have to pay a service charge of the guy coming to look at door. The guy arrives and says it's the door opener pully that caused the door to come off track and bend the door. They said a new top 1/3 of door was going to cost US $500. Long story short, the repair guy said, "I had to adjust the right side runners" which tells me that right from the start, as I told the Manager I spoke to a year and three months ago and the Manager I spoke to the other morning that the tracking/runners were not installed correctly from the start. So, there's no way I would EVER recommend Action Doors to anyone and I plan on spreading the word that they are a terrible company to deal with. I feel in my gut that this isn't the last repair that's going to have to be done to this garage door and the sad part is I will have to deal with them again and again. So frustrating that such a costly investment was wasted money because of the shoddy workmanship and abilities of the installers. I'm not a complainer nor am I a confrontational person but from beginning to end, this has been horrible. Sad to say, it seems to be the sign of the times with quality of product and companies who do the installing.
