The company promised to install tankless water heater tank in our house. First time they installed it, it came out all wrong: the workers created a flood in the basement, damaged floor, carpet, walls and kitchen furniture in the neighboring room; workers were standing on our new washer machine, put instruments on it and scratched it badly. In the end, they were very rude and called my husband an "idiot" for calling them unprofessional. Moreover, they installed the tank incorrectly, creating the gas leak.
The company had to come second time to add another tube, according to the tank manual. Later they called the second visit "custom modification" and wanted to charge us extra money for this second visit. Nevertheless, the new installation didn't help, as the gas smell persisted. Also, the first time they installed the tank, the gas tube was resting on our air conditioner, creating dangerous situation (see pic. 5).
We called the company many times regarding the gas smell and wrote e-mails asking to compensate for the damages they've made. They hardly responded and claimed the gas smell was normal. During winter we didn't paid much attention to the smell, but as spring came we had to call Enbridge for inspection. Enbridge called the situation dangerous and closed our gas until the appliance is repaired.
We are still waiting for this company to fix the problem, but they never respond and we had to file a legal action against them. They never gave us a chance to sign financial papers to proceed with payment, and now they blame us for not paying them monthly fees: when we invited them to come to our house to estimate the damages and sign papers, they refused.
Moreover, according to the contract, Active Temp was responsible for delivering our old tank to the previous company. The previous company refused to take it back, because it was damaged. We were charged almost $1, 000 for the tank. Active Temp claimed they don't care and it wasn't their responsibility anyway. They refused to compensate us the money for the tank they were supposed to deliver safely.
Active Temp Control has the worst customer service we've ever encountered.
