stupid process
My mother kindly booked a family portrait.
The process was completely stupid - you had to go through a registration rigmorole online to 'register your experience'
I then had to wait 10 days for a letter to arrive with my options on it ...there was one ...THE CLICK GROUP
I then had to ring them...they took me through ANOTHER registration process
They could not find a 'Member' studio nearer than nearly 30 miles away
THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME ITS NAME. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY
I HAVE TO SEND THEM PART OF THE ORIGINAL VOUCHER IN THE POST (NOT THE SUPPLIER)
ON RECIEPT...I THE CUSTOMER HAVE TO WAIT A FURTHER 14 DAYS TO GET A DATE WHEN WE CAN GO
THEY WILL TELL ME THIER AVAILABILITY
CLEARLY THE BENEFICIERY IS TOTALLY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PRIORITY LIST HERE _ SOME GIFT!!!

Wont refund me
Activity Superstore offers so-called 'Gift Experiences' designed to give you an experience of a lifetime - this is a load of rubbish!!!
My fiance purchased me an activity voucher for Christmas in order to cheer me up after a very tough year. I was thrilled to bits when I opened the envelope and saw what it was. I duly filled in the card and sent it off requesting the activity I had chosen.
After almost 3 weeks of waiting (despite them saying it would take 10 days) they finally sent me a voucher ... for the WRONG activity. Apparently the one I had chosen had been discontinued... fair enough. However, the alternative did not appeal and I asked for a refund.
They said no, several times, and eventually, after many emails and a letter of complaint they agreed I could have a refund. So I did as they asked, sent them the voucher back and started to wait...and wait...and wait.
After almost a month, I emailed them asking where my money was. They claim not have received the voucher so here we go again.
I could almost let it go apart from the fact that when you google ACTIVITY SUPERSTORE COMPLAINTS, you find a whole host of people who have had problems with this rip-off merchants.

I am so angry, I am spitting chips. I cannot believe I have been taken for a "patsy" by Debenhams in Oxford on behalf of The Activity Superstore
I was given a gift of an "experience" - my choice to select high adrenalin or more sedate. The receiver of the gift does not know the value (it is promoted at £99, as if that amount buys everything on the list) - but then it becomes clear when you as the recipient tries to book, that you find that anything worth booking will be at extra (significantly extra!) cost. In the end I chose London theatre and meal for 2 - my husband gave me the present so I thought it would be nice to share. We went yesterday, to see "Wicked" - great show, but totally spoilt by the greed of the providers of the voucher. "Best seats available" were promised, which should say "best seats available within the price range we (Activity Superstore) have bought". Since the only tickets booked by The Activity Superstore were the cheapest in the house, at the back of the gods, this does not leave much room for a pleasant experience. Not the theatre's fault, these were the seats that Activity Superstore purchased, and as the theatre booking office Manager rightly said, they have no control over what agencies sell the tickets on for. The face value of the theatre tickets was £20.
The meal bit has to be written off. Not exactly a dining experience. This was a pub meal (but one could not call it a meal), one course, cheapest item on the menu. Total disgrace. We would not stoop so low for a lunchtime snack let alone a special outing. Max cost would not have exceeded £5 per head. We said no thank you and went elsewhere..
This is mis-selling, and is a product not fit for purpose. Total price paid to Debenhams £99; face value of product £50 (max) not taking account of purchasing power of vendor.
I'm always happy to pay for a worthwhile experience, but I cannot believe I have been so "shafted" by these con merchants. Debenhams should not risk their reputation on such a con. Activity Superstore should be shut down.
Only light on the horizon was the brilliant performance of the theatre booking office who, despite everything, moved us to seats where we had a decent view. They didn't have to do that, but they were just as angry as we were and were prepared to help us.

Simply ridiculous
I bought a rally rush experience for my boyfriend for his birthday and we were late activating the voucher so the company asked us for £15 late booking fee which i paid. i sent a cheque off registered post and after a few weeks of not hearing anything i phoned them and they said they had not received my cheque. i then sent off another cheque and proceeded to make a booking over the phone for seaton ross on 18th march. on turning up at the venue having both of us taking days off work, we were told that no such booking had been made and were told that nothing could be done. i contacted the activity superstore only to be told that that date and venue hadnt been arranged and infact the venue had been arranged for northamptonshire!! why would we go there when we live in North Yorkshire? to cap it all the manager emily atkinson told me that i would have to pay £25 more to re-book. i am furious. the rally rush man told us that this happened all the time and in fact some people travel from scotland only to be told that the booking hasnt been made. this is disgraceful and i am going to go down as many channels as possible in order to claim some recompense for this ridiculous situation. at the moment i have lost my voucher money, 2 late payment fees, have been treated very unfairly, been accused of lying and my boyfriend still has no birthday present from last june. i have been in contact with trading standards who are very interested in this case.
