I called down to the dealership because I was informed of a transmission recall from a friend. I called down to the dealership gave my VIN # and was told my car was indeed part of the recall. I was then asked to bring my car down to see if the transmission needed to even be replaced. I got down there and waited for 3 hours only for them to walk out and hand me a 10, 000 bill!!! They informed me tht it was indeed bad and other things tht "needed" to be fixed of course. All the while they knew the only reason I even came own was because I was under the impression tht Acura would be replacing it should it need to be fixed. I proceeded to ask them questions and the customer service handed me a sheet of paper explaining the VIN # range for ones tht would be replaced by Acura and unfortunately mine didn’t fall in tht range. I could've and should have been informed of this before I drove all the way to the dealership. I am a 25 year old woman who can pass for 17 and not to mention I had my uniform on, needless to say I felt very very take advantage of. Not to mention I took my car to a transmission specialist the very next day and was told it was fine!!! For someone very proud to serve in the military, it def made me very very sad to fight and risk my life for people who conduct business like this...Keep up the great work Acura of newport news!
