Approximately eighteen (18) months ago I took a ring into Mr. Geller to be duplicated. He quoted a cost of $1200.00 of which I paid down of $600.00. Since Mr. Geller had only overheard my conversation with one of his sales representatives, the ring he crafted was a large man’s ring rather than a petite woman’s as I requested. He agreed to reduce the ring he had made. The ring was still very large and unsatisfactory. Eventually, feeling that Mr. Geller would not duplicate this ring successfully, I agreed to have my tuplip ring copied. Mr. Geller made the mold and quoted me accost of $900.00 to produce the tulip ring using a diamond in the center and sapphires surrounding the diamond. The copy is nothing like the original and Mr. Geller informs me he cannot reproduce it without charging me additionally. I currently have an inferior copy of my tulip ring which has been appraised by three jewelers at costs ranging from $195 to around $500 (I don’t have the quotes with me at this moment) and Mr. Geller has my $1200.00.
I would like an exact copy of the ring crafted for the $900.00 he quoted, or I will be happy to give him the ring back and take my $1200.00 in exchange.
I appreciate your help. I am in the process of contacting all available sources to resolve this situation.
