Refuses to upgrade after purchase
I purchased Adobe Web Premium CS4 bundle on Feb. 20, 2010. Due to a problem with Fireworks crashing every time I closed it, I checked the Adobe site to find support. Low and behold there was a new version Web Premium CS5 released April 12, 2010. I called support to get an upgrade, but they refused me. Their policy quoted to me by an agent and his manager states that free upgrades are available to those who have purchased software within a month of the new version release. Ok, so I ask how much the upgrade was and they said I had to buy the entire suite of software again since I had bought an education version. I have to upgrade to a commercial license before I can upgrade. Yeah, it's all in the fine print. A simple request to give an honest, paying customer a working product that I paid for was refused. Adobe earn the last dollar I'll ever pay them.

Unathuorized charges
Do NOT buy an online subscription from Adobe unless you're prepared to have them charge you for an unauthorized "renewal" at the end of your purchased term. They offer 2 options: $9.99/mo or $99.99 year. I selected and paid for 1 month. At the end of that month, they automatically charged me for the next month. It took 5 customer service rep conversations for someone to a) cancel the subscription so that I don't get charged again NEXT month (we'll see...); and b) tell me that they cannot reverse the charge, no way, no how, because their automatic renewal policy is IN THE TERMS & CONDITIONS. You know, the fine print pages long that we have to click to buy the product that claims to obligate us for only the stated period? Congress is holding hearings this year on these types of unethical practices by supposedly reputable companies -- but until new law passes that makes this illegal, STAY AWAY FROM ADOBE SUBSCRIPTIONS. As long as it's still legal, they will screw you, and refuse to apologize.

Unfair business practices
I just bought two new Canon cameras that I can not use because Adobe has refused to offer the update plug-in for those cameras on its Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom 1.4 programs that are barely two years old. These programs cost hundreds of dollars. To pay for updates for these programs is several hundred dollars. Many of us could understand the necessity of paying for updates if the programs were say four years old or more--but not two!

UNFAIR PRACTICES! CONSUMERS BEWARE! Many consumers including myself purchased the cameras and then found out afterwards about the update issue.
