We were looking for a Major Medical Insurance Company for my husband. After filling out the information needed Adova called and spoke with us about their health insurance and it sounded so good we went ahead and signed up. Come to find out, they are not a health insurance company but a medical discount company. The lady on the phone told us that they were not a discount company but an insurance company and for us to be wary of discount companies. She also told us that they pay 80% of doctor’s visits and that was not true. Adova is in fact a medical discount company and I feel that people should be warned about them. When I realized that we had been lied to, I called the company immediately to cancel the application I was told I would get a full refund of the $299.95 that was deducted from our bank account in 7 to 10 business days. I waited for a month and no refund. I called the company again and am now being told that I would only get a refund of $199.95 because $100.00 is non-refundable. Not only do they lie to the public but they steal your money too.
