Garnishment
I had a garnishment on my payroll and had both attorneys submit a release for the garnishment to stop money being with held from my payroll. First we faxed the release on 12/15 @1:03pst. ADP stated they didnt recieve it till 12/16 for it takes them 24 to review a fax. Then they stated it takes them 48 hours to process a fax. I called them again on 12/17 talked to a service rep. he stated the release was fully processed and that my next payroll would not be affected by any garnishment. So i had entered into a legal agreement with the party regarding the garnishment considering no more garnishments would be coming out of my paychcks any longer. A week later go to view my paycheck online. GARNISHMENT...i wanted to scream. Call up ADP, Service rep states it takes up to 1-2 payrolls for the relaase to take affect. This is insane. I dont think they know what is going on. I said i had a letter from them stating this release was processed. i said they need to put something in writting when this release would be processed. They refused. Wouldnt give me an address to submit a complaint. Said i needed to send it to him and he would submit to his supervisor. Would tell me where they are licesed with the BBB so i can submit a complaint with the state they are licensed with. This is the worst company i have ever dealt with. Now no christmas presents for my kids. Merry Christmas you horrible Company...i hope you rot in the land of fire...

unethical cobra services
ADP is holding our HIPAA statement hostage! even though we were covered for a year through their administrative cobra services, they now refuse to send us the letter that states so. they claim their client (american express) did not contract for that service. excuse me? how are we, the employees hit by a lay-off and trying to stay afloat, supposed to know that? and why should we be responsible? where do they get off telling someone they can't issue such a statement, even though the law provides that insurers and administrators MUST do so? we are escalating this issue to the highest level, to insure we receive comprehensive health coverage. in the meantime: if your business is thinking about hiring ADP, save yourself and your employees a giant headache and don't choose them. they are unethical and they break the law.

taking more than i owe
I have been paying off a debt with garnishment through ADP and they have over charged me more than $8, 000 which they now have now record of ever having a garnish for me for that amount. Business owners beware of what you are doing to your employees before choosing this company!!!

Buyer beware
If only I had read this site before deciding to go with ADP. As a small business owner I should have investigated ADP.
We signed on for payroll and 401K services, what a mistake! Attempting to speak with a "specialist" is futile, their record keeping is inept at best and dishonest at worst. Fees are not fully explained when they are "courting" an account. Today, no Fed Tax taken from employee's pay. It is two weeks since funds were transferred to our new 401k account, but funds have not been allocated and records are incomplete.
They are excellent at "lip service, " but when it comes to straightening out a problem they have caused they are not available. They were to debit my account for taxes returned from another payroll service and now (even though I have a letter stating this would be done) I am left in trouble with the IRS because these taxes were not paid.
Please save yourself the headaches we are experiencing. Choose another company, but investigate before signing anything.

Garnishment Services
I have a court order which clearly states that my Child support will be paid as a garnishment to my ex-wife on the day that I receive my pay. We recieve our pay on the 1st and the 15th of every month. ADP has decided to ignore a Cook County Court Order because it relies on a an Illinois Child Support guideline which states that they have 7 days to pay Child Support. So, ADP has decided that this is their policy, regardless of what the court order states, and therefore is making interest on everyones child support payment, by with holding it for 7 days.
I have now moved to Texas, while my ex is still in Illinois. The Texas guideline is 14 days. So, now my ex's child support stays in ADP's hands gaining interest for 14 days.
On August 31st, they decided not to garnish my wages. I called their helpdesk and spoke to "Mike" in Bangalore, who gave me a ticket number. I worked through my company to ensure they do not withhold my child support as I will pay her directly. 29 days later I get a call from "Mike" who quotes me my ticket number and informs me that they are going to withhold that Garnishment on the 15th of October. I explained to them, in a rather harsh voice that if I waited for them to do what they were supposed to do, I would have been in contempt of a judges order for 45 days. I explained that I already paid them and by no means am I authorizing them to withhold an additional child support amount. I have a feeling that they will make a double payment on 10/15.
Why hasn't there ever been a class action lawsuit on them and their actions. It is clear that thier actions are unethical (withholding my money, against a judges order, to gain interest.) It is clear that they are not following the Circuit Courts orders.

payroll garnishment
ADP took $169. a week for child support and failed to send it to the agency for 2 weeks. My husband is now in arrears and ADP has not sent to agency or returned it to us. I went and payed the arrears and now ADP is taking #253. a week for it

Taxes
This company takes no responsibility for their mistakes. We had an employee move out of state, and we filled out the approproate change of address form. Well, ADP never took state taxes out for the employess new home. Apparently, we were supposed to know (psychic?) that there was another form to fill out. The web site never prompted us to fill anything else out. Now the employee has to pay a penalty. DO NOT use ADP. You may as well do payroll yourself since either way you will have to assume liability.

very poor customer service
ADP is absolutely the worst payroll company. We fired them in 2005 because they could not fix the mistake they made and resolve the issue timely with IRS. They still unable to get issue resolved. No return call or follow-up from them at all!! Their fees are outrageous and there are different answers for each person you speak to. Bad experience.

Unethical payroll service
After processing two payrolls erroneously, one ADP client service rep said he would credit my bank account for $1, 300 in taxes and fees that were erroneously debited. When it didn't happen after one week, another ADP client service rep refused to refund any fees from my bank account, due to their errors, because I was not given and did not write down a case number. ADPs records did not include my phone conversation with the first rep.
The second rep then refused to give me their address or the name of the general manager. Since when is it a secret to know who's managing an important business service for you?!?
While they send client satisfaction surveys and call you to discuss bad ratings, there has never been follow-through to implement promises such what I was offered to make up for errors (a delivery fee credit and two free payrolls.)
If you use ADP payroll and tax filing service, be prepared for errors, miscommunication, extra processing costs, and un-user-friendly client service practices. You are unlikely to speak with the same client service rep twice, thus there is no accountability for quality work or complete communication. One rep says "A", the next says "B", then the next one says they don't know anything about the prior reps' conversations.
It's very time-consuming to get through to ADP by phone. You are not allowed to send faxes or emails. I've been a client for 3 years and tolerated occasional mistakes. But this is too much.
I don't know what happened to ADP. They used to be highly focused on customer satisfaction and excellent service. Now it seems employees don't have a chance to serve clients properly due to the policies and faulty customer database that management has given them. Too bad, because ADP is still the largest competitor in the field. I've moved on to Wells Fargo Payroll.
