Unathorized fee
I called ADT since I'm looking into replacing the Security Company I have now. I spoke to Mike on February 18th @ 11:21 am for 22:44 minutes. I explained Mike that the present company does not want to speak to me and my husband is too busy to take care of this matter. Mike promissed me that My husband or I could make a call with no problems. After talking about the system I have, Mike suggested to have an inspection done. We discuss fees, I thought it was expensive and I was not sure if I wanted the services. An appointment was schedule and Mike promissed there were no binding contracts since it was just an inspection of my system. 2 Days later they withdraw money without my authorization.
I called ADT and "they could not speak with me" I being treated just like my present company. My husband gave verbal authorization in a 3 way call which they did not even asked any personal information from him, don't know why they needed to get authorization from him. After I explained Jason the Supervisor, he bragged about ADT securing all the government buildings. If ADT promisses and do the opposite I do not wante their service I don't care that they secure all the goverments of the world. ADT is not the company I can trust.

COMPANY
This place is a Joke.I went four times for an interview and got nothing but Great comments from each manager. Ive got 12 years in Sales and they loved everything about my resume and Bacground . The last guy that talked to me talked to me more about church than the freakin job, asked if I was a god loving man, what denomination, and so aon, would not shut up about it. And because I answered wrongly I am sure on a few of those because I was sick of getting hounded on religion. I went from hey you start next week to never hearing back and noone returning a call. Found a great job after that and worked out for the best. Best thing I can tell you if they are real is Dont drink the koolaid.

Disgusting company
The most disgusting company doing business. I had an alarm system, my house was burglarized...my insurance company determined the alarm failed due to FAULTY EQUIPMENT. ADT took no responsibility and claims no liability. I lost over $15, 000 due to ADT's negligence. And guess what, when you sign your contract - you are signing to allow for the system to fail. They guarantee you nothing! Read the fine print people - DO NOT USE ADT! Use someone local please! Don't believe me, check this out: http://www.scrippsnews.com/content/family-murdered-woman-sues-adt-over-alarm-system This has to stop! It's not fair for people to be put in danger when they buy a security system to protect them!

Sales person gave a misleading information, ADT does not let us cancel their service
I am having a terrible experience with ADT's service. Here is the story in short: we were opening a store in Montreal in November 2010, called ADT (because their panel and equipment was already installed there) to connect the alarm. After couple days their sales person, Christophe Zenie, came to discuss the prices with us. We explained him that we rent the place by sublet which ends in April 2011, and may move out from the store earlier than that and that is why we don't want to have any contracts. He told that was fine and ADT does not have contracts for small businesses and we can cancel for a fee of about 200$ anytime we want. He convinced us to install additional devices (which we found out we did not really need later on) for an installation fee of 176$. He gave us a piece of paper where that installation fee was written and asked to sign that paper, stating we agree with that sum. I have asked what else was written in a paper, so that I don't take time to read it (because he was in a hurry for a next appointment), and he told that it was just a bill for installation (2 more people were there and herd that). Well, I usually trust people, so I signed that piece of paper, and he ran away for his next appointment. my biggest mistake was to trust that guy. As long as business did not go well, we decided to move out from that place in December (i.e. after having a service for only a month). I have cold ADT to cancel the service, and they told me we have a 3 year contract (that piece of paper called "the bill for installation" by Christophe Zenie) and to cancel it we have to pay 90% of the remaining contract, in our case the whole contract except 1 month used (i.e. 90% of 48$*12*3= about 1555$). I contacted Christophe and he told that he apologizes for a misunderstanding which was probably caused because he was in a hurry and the only thing they could do is to transfer the service "for free" to anyone or to our house. To put it short, no one wanted a service and we decided to transfer it to our house. "for free" came up to 470$ for installation. After searching the ADT website and talking and waiting for him to find out if we could have a 99$ installation plan I found on the website, he told "yeh, you can have it". why did he have to give that crazy 470$ plan at the beginning if I asked for a cheapest one (because actually I don't want any plan at all, but paying for a cancellation of service you have for a month 1600$ is crazy)? So yeh, awful service. Some other smaller issues such as not putting a note he was supposed to put in a contract saying that it is a replacement of the business contract, waiting 3 days for a technician (1st day they were supposed to come they just did not show up, second day they told that they came but no one was there (while there were 2 people waiting for them the whole day without leaving), third day with the appointment for 11AM they told that the guy who was supposed to come got an injury when I called them at 4PM (is it so difficult to call and notify people who are waiting?!?) and finally we had a guy coming only after a week of the date of the 1st appointment).
So, I will never have an ADT's service ever again and suggest anyone wanting to get an alarm system - avoid ADT at all costs. Worst service I ever had in Canada. Just a bunch of people trying to steel as much money as possible from your wallet!

Please don't buy. Worst service ever had.
we had a fire accident, ADT didn't even aware of the accident. when I called the customer service about the issue, they are saying that every time we have to inform the ADT company about accidents. How funny is that. we are paying them hell lot of money just to educate them about burglary or fire accident etc.,
My sincere suggestion to my fellow citizens please think twice before having ADT system. you'll get worst system you ever imagine.

No repair service for 1 week
I had the ADT security system installed about 6 months ago & since the past 2 days the front door alarm is showing a fault. When I called the company I was told to run some tests after which she said it must be a fault with the device & that they need to send out a technician. The next available date is 10 days later. I explained to the lady that I was leaving the country for an extended period of time & needed the device to be working, so that I could leave knowing that my house is secure. She told me that she could guide me thru a process wherein I could bypass the front door & just secure the back door! So, if the burglars come in thru the front door, its ok!! When I asked to be transferred to a supervisor, I was told I could get emergency services by paying 285$ / hr of service! And absolutely no regrets or offer other solution. When I said i'd like to disconnect the service was told that I could call back tomorrow & pay up the terms of the next 5 years contract & cancel the contract. So basically, you pay for 5 years for no monitoring or partial monitoring!

Rebate runaround
Had ADT Home security system installed August 2010, still waiting for $200 rebate I sent ALL REQUIRED info in for. Nothing but run arounds for EVERYONE we talk to. Latest info from them was check was mailed on 12/18/2010. I am still waiting. Don't do business with this company. one broken promise after another. I hope I never need to find out if the system actually works. Stay away from this scam of a company. If I get no satisfaction within the next month I am reporting to the state attorney general.

Contact
So being a small business owner I try to do the right thing for my business. After being open 1 year, a store next to me was broken into. Thought maybe I used get a security system. Called ADT had it install and signed the paperwork was I assumed was the "yeah, you installed and everything works fine" normal paperwork you sign after something is installed. After 2 years of a very rough economy I started the project of reducing my expenses. So, the alarm system I never use should go. $40 a month is huge to me these days. Well ADT says I signed a 5 year contact. I thought to myself, well that was dumb since i only had 4 years left on my lease when I got the security system. So I searched my paperwork for a contact. Can't find one. Call ADT, please send me a copy. It took them 2 phone calls and 2 months and 3 months of not paying my bill to receive what they consider my contact, the "yeah, you installed and everything works fine" paper i signed. Ok my eyeglass and a magnifying glass I found the statement about 5 years. If everything is honest and fair, why are they hiding this statement in tiny print and why they are not telling anyone before the install or after they install the equipment. From what I am reading most people only find out when they want to cancel.

Too late now!
ADT left me a msg on my cell to notify me that my alarm was going off and motion is detected in my home. When I called them back, they asked me should they send the police. I'm not sure what I'm paying ADT for if they are waiting for me to tell them to send the police to my home. Also they stated that they call my home first. Why would you do that, are you hoping to speak with the burglar? This is the 3rd burglary @ my home this year. Each time, ADT waited for me to tell them to send the police. Well by the time the police gets there, the burglar is gone and no body has been caught yet.

SERVICE NEVER HOOKED UP PROPERLY
In December 2001 we called ADT and arranged for them come to our new home and install a security system. The ADT technician came on 12/09/2001 and installed our the system into our newly built home. Since that date we have had our monthly MONITORING fee of $42 withdrawn from our checking account. In November 2010 we decided to switch security companies and called Ackerman. The technicians came out on November 13th and hooked us up to their system using the same equipment we had installed by ADT in December 2001. During the hook-up process the technicians were stunned and called us down to the garage to show us that when our initial system was installed, a mistake was made by the ADT technician and we were NEVER HOOKED UP THROUGH THE PHONE LINES TO ADT, WE HAD BEEN PAYING FOR A MONITORING SERVICE FOR 9 YEARS THAT WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED. We were not hooked up to the outside world. I called and tried to resolve this with ADT, I called 1-800=262-3009 and I spoke with Kirk and who referred me to Kevia Corley. She told me that they are not responsible and that there is nothing they can do. I believe that we are entitled to every single dollar that we have paid to them for the past 9 years, including the $162 we paid to ADT for installation.
