Advanced Wellness Research Reviews

Acai Berry
They seem to be one of the "typical" scam in which they "offer" a product for a special price during the trial period, but in fact, they later on keep charging your credit card at a very high cost per unit and keep doing it until you cancel your card. As you may see in the string of complaints, they have changed their customer service numbers several times and as matter of fact the 1-866-964-1011 seem to be disconnected by now. I recommend for you to change your credit card # as I did before they do the "scam charges" as I call them.

Unauthorized debit of credit card
I odered a free trial of Acia berry from Advanced Wellness Research and I authorized the use of my credit card for the shipping cost of $4.99. Approximately 14 days later my credit card was debited in the amount of $78.81 and an additional chanrge of $2.35, for an out of country trasnsaction fee. I did not authorize either of these debits. I have tried to reach the above referenced company three times by phone in the last 16 hours. I was placed on hold for over 7 minutes before the first call was terminated. During the last two calls I was transfred to an extension to "terminate my home delivery" and these calls were also terminated by Advanced Wellness Research (AWR), thereby making it impossible for me to cancel any services that AWR may contend I authorized. I have lodged a complaint with the bank that issued my cedit card and have requested a reimbusement of fees charged by AWR. However, I was not able to reach anyone with AWR to demand that no future use be made of my credit card. Stephanie Knapp

Unauthorized billing
I found after the 14 day trial period that I would not be able to continue using the product (Pure Acai Berry) due to other prescription medications I am required to take.

I called them to cancel the automatic shipment program today. I questioned what to do with subsequent shipments that I may receive. I was told to 'keep them, you will not be charged, consider it a gift if you should receive anymore shipments...' I requested a cancellation confirmation number of which I was told there was none. I hung up the phone. Walked to my mailbox and had received a package from Advanced Wellness.

I checked online regarding returns and contacted the toll free number, again, and was told that product returns were not allowed and that I had to cancel within the trial period and that I would not be refunded the amount charged to my account. I advised that returns are addressed on the website - if returns aren't permitted, then why refer to it on the website?? I requested to speak with a supervisor. I was told, 'All supervisors are in a meeting, I cannot transfer the call.' I offered my home number and requested a call back. I was told that 'that is not possible'. (I was speaking to someone who claimed to be named 'Alex'.)

We need to get the word out that this particular company has some awful business practices and are walking a fine line. They also claim to charge only $4.99 for the trial portion of this product, but then slam you with a $78.81 set-up/activation fee. Highway robbery if you ask me.

ACAI BERRY Free Trial
Boy, I can vouch for everyone who is saying negative (to say the least) things about this "company."

Here's my story:

I saw the free trial offer and actually, I did want to try to product. I filled out the information on the 1st page and went on to the next page. There, I saw the Terms and also the price. I quickly said "too much", closed the windows and went about my business.

The next day I received a phone call from this place - duh - like what was I thinking?

They tell me "oh no problem, you can cancel right after we get off the phone." blah, blah, blah.

So relunctantly, I agreed - like I said, duh, what was I thinking?

Later that night, I felt funny about it and looked them up on the internet for scams. Sure enough, I found them and promptly called my credit card company, explained the whole boring story and they recommended me closing my account which I did immediately. But I still wanted to do the "right" thing and cancel my order "properly".

Same run-around everyone is talking about. After numerous tries, I finally reached them with my cell (if you can't get a human being from the phone you gave them, try a different phone). They said there was no guarantee my order would be cancelled since their system was down, but I told them it was cancelled because there is no more credit card. They seemed upset when I told them I was recording our conversations and that I was going to report them.

If someone initiates business with you in the aggressive manner these people do, duh - don't fall for it like I dummy did. Also, if they got you,

CANCEL YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD IMMEDIATELY (and make sure you give the name of the company to the bank/credit card company).

Major League Scam! DO NOT ORDER!
My husband ordered the trial bottle of the acai tablets. Web site states NO RISK OFFER. If you read their terms of service you get their privacy policy instead. When you click on the acai berry ad it takes you to a different site that states if you don't cancel within 14 days you will be charged $78.81. Not only were we charged but we were again charged on 2/17 for another $82.80 for a product we did not order nor want. We called the company and got some guy who couldn't speak English, definitely called India. Only thing he understood was CANCEL but refused to give us a refund.

Called credit card company and boy are they aware of this company. Filed a dispute and charges are removed pending follow up. Had to close my account to so they couldn't charge us again. What a royal pain.

My shock (or maybe not) is that Rachel Ray has her name attached to these people. Someone really needs to give her a wake up call. There's no way to contact her unless you send an email to her [email protected].

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Acai Berry
The Pure Acai Berry is a scam they do overcharge you and refuse to give you a refund, I have reported them to the BBB. The product might work, but I don't even want to take it because of how unprofessional they are. They need to make you more aware of the charges after 14 days if you do not cancel. Please read the fine print at the bottom of the page before you decide to get the free trial for 4.99. It will end up being 78.81 plus the 4.99 plus some .15 charge!

Fraud
I fell for the advertisement on the online news section. Stupid me. It's
another scam. I ordered the trial bottle of Pure Acai Berry for shipping and handling price of 4.99. 10 days later much to my dismay my debit card was charged 78.81. The rep I spoke to claimed even though the bottle contained 60 capsules, the free trial was only 10 capsules. The 78.81 charge was for the remaining 50 capsules. No where did I see that in their privacy policy. This is a scam be careful of this company.
The rep named Sophie said my money will be refunded in 5 or 6 days.
I hope so but frankly I don't believe it. What recourse do I have if any?

charges without authorization
I was charged 4.99 for my free trial for shipping, then was charged 78.81 14 days later. I received another bottle in the mail(which I did not order) so I called the company and was told I would be being charged another $83 for the bottle I had just received. I asked for my card to be credited and that I would send back the product.
I was told this could not be done that it was my fault because I had not read the terms and conditions. I received nothing stating any sort of terms when I received my 1st bottle or I would have cancelled immediately. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told this was not possible.
