Overcharged
I started out with 0% rate and less than 3months ago the company raised my interest rate to 31% this is predatory lending. I tried sending letters and speaking with someone and all I get is poor customer service. The company has jack the price up so high that i cant afford to meet minimum payments. They are unreasonable they ask for my bank information routing information when i decline Joe Dellosa started screaming in the phone. They call my job every day which is not my business. I asked them to stop and he stated he will keep calling. I did consolidation credit he told me that doesn't work and they don't honor that he continue to call. I cant pay 400 a month for a credit card. I ask the company to call my house and not my job because i will get fired it didn't matter because continues to call everyday.

Fraud and cheating
I have had a credit card with these loan sharks for 3 yrs. Always paid on time and paid over the minimum payment. Regardless they raised my rate from 10.09% to 30.08%.

When I called to complain they just said it was due to my credit rating, although none of my other credit cards changed my rate. I was given the same rehearsed speech over and over again. Was told to check back in a couple of months to see if my rating has changed.

No Thanks. I will pay this card down and never do business with them ever.

This scam needs to be exposed!!

Fraud and cheating
DO NOT GET THIS CARD!!! Same story as everyone else- no late payments, always early, and for no reason rate went from 7.99% as agreed to aver 20% in ONE month with NO warning! When my monthly payment tripled I looked and found out what they had done. THIS IS A SCAM PEOPLE!!

Rip off
I also got raised to 25.08 from 7.99%. What a predatory group of thieves. They must think that someone with a credit score of 800, who pays on time and pays extra can't get credit from other sources. I'm not done with them yet. Of course, it won't do any good, but a letter will go to my state's attorney general and the BBB. At least I got to use their money for a year interest free. Idiots.

I'm tempted to post the conversation I had with their "service rep" on youtube just for kicks. It sounded like the young lady on the other end probably took a lot of calls like mine because of her heavy sighs and frustrated answers.

Worst bank of them all
I cannot believe Advanta. I have been a good customer for years, and had 7.99% without a problem, even after a late payment. But now, just 3 months after I take advantage of a $10, 000 cash advance that they promised would stay at 7.99%, they have raised it to over 30%!!! They can give me no justifiable reason other than "your credit report has changed".

I asked "how"...

They reply, "you just don't deserve a 7.99% rate anymore"

Can you believe this?

I was on time with payments, and a good customer for years. Not anymore. Next call is to a bankruptcy lawyer, and Advanta can choke on the fact that they will not get a dime back from me now. Idiots.

I hope the greedy bastards burn in ***... how can they conduct business like this?

BOYCOTT ADVANTA LIKE THE BLACK PLAGUE...

DO NOT GET a Big Cash Advance... once you do they know they have you.

...and where the *** are all the class action lawsuit lawyers???

Terrible experience
Our Advanta Small Business card went from 7.9 to 22% with a 2 week notice. We use our card for business travel, and we have had no issues with late payments or any default issues. Our original agreement stated that we would have a 7.99% fixed rate for a lifetime if we did not default. This was a lie, and they threw in enough fine print to mix it up in their favor. When we called to try to establish a better rate, they would not even consider a change on our behalf, even though we had been excellent customers and had an excellent credit score.

It is not worth a lawsuit, but I want everyone to know that this is not a company to be trusted!

Interest rate raised because of the state of the economy
Everyone needs to be very wary of doing business with Advanta. This month my interest rate was increased from 11.99% to 25.39%. When I questioned why this was since I was an excellent customer and have excellent credit, I received the following reply. It seems now it doesn't matter how good you are at paying your bills, you are punished for what the rest of the country does. I am paying off this credit card immediately and canceling my account. Buyer beware!!!

Continious lies and harrasment
My complaint is against Advanta Bank, Utah. Had the card at the 0%. My wife died about a year after I received the card. Called them and told them the circumstances and that i would be about 2 weeks late. They said no problem (Lie 1). They raised me to 7.9%. I had told them it took most of my last $5000 dollars to bury her. The ghouls sooned raised my to 29% and eventually to 31%. I had only at first been a month behind. The harrasing phone calls came in a barrage and never stopped, Tried to negotiate by they told me they could not (Lied again). I found out that they would notr negotiate until you are 90 days in the rears and even then, they offered very little help. I had to got to CCCS to have them stop the 31%. They are among the worst to deal with. Never thought a company could be as mean spirited as they are. Looking for those who had similar experiences for a possible legal proceedings

Lying customer service reps.
Spoke with customer service on 2 occassions and was told my interest rate would be lowered as soon as on-time payment history was good for 6 months. Called in to discuss new rate and told they could not lower. Their service reps. are liars.

Excessive Interest
What a rep off. There is clearly no such thing as a 0% balance transfer for life with Advanta. Attempted to make payment and the website was down and the offices were not open. Yet, if the payment had been posted it would have been early by two days!!! They merely ignore your when you call and if you-e-mail they merely migrate to another discussion rather than addressing your complaint.

If I am frosted that they are over-charging me, why would I even remotely be interested in transferring anything to them!!! If in doubt, just do a web search on Advanta Bank and you will find more than enough information about their business (unbusiness-like) practices.

Time for Congress to reign in the crooks. I am all for making a living, as a businessman I attempt to do the same. However, I am not in favor of sticking it to the people simply so that an otherwise unknowledgeable customer (no-service) representative can make their daily, weekly, and/or monthly quota!!!
