I set up autopay on a low interest balance tranfer loan to pay off my car at low itnerest. I set up Bank to Credit Card company payments at my bank Union Bank of CA. 15 payments rolled by without a problem then for some reason I was a day early. I had set it up to be early as not to EVER be late. Then I seem my statement has a new 19.1% form 4.99% interest rate and a balance of $7000 remaining!!! The interest went from $20 a month to $110!!!
I called Advanta to report this technical error and have my low interest reinstated. They STONE WALLED me at every level of management. They refused to reverse the agreement and forced me to go to Chase, who for a low $75 fee gave me a 2.99% for life of loan deal on the balance. The interesting thing here is I asked Chase right up front how they would have handled the Advanta problem. They said they would have re-instated my low interest. Clrearly Advanta cares more about money than its customers so I say loud and clear AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH ADVANTA BANK. And if you DO business with them have them draft payments from your checking account so there is no question about them getting it. They are rigid and inflexible. They do not care about you or your honesty, integrity or your business referral potential. They simply do not give a damn about anything but their bottom line. I say off with their heads! It is exactly what I did... I found a better deal and a better bank. CHASE. Chase is not perfect... they will screw you as soon as look at you but they LISTEN and they have enough sense to know how to keep a customer if not happy... at least satisfied in knowing they are not out to get you at all costs like Advanta Bank. I pity Advanta. They are pathetic losers.
