Warning - Don't buy AEG. I bought an AEG washing machine - with a five year warranty. 18 months later, I have had to have it repaired 5 times, each time something different!
Don't be fooled by anyone telling you that AEG is a 'top' brand. A washing machine that can have that many different problems (circuit board, pump, motor, draining mechanism, drum problems, etc) does not come from quality manufacturer.
What about the AEG five year warranty - why worry if someone else will come over and fix it each time it breaks down? Well, assuming you don't mind having an AEG washing machine that breaks down 3 times a year every year - there's still the problem of dealing with AEG's service company. I read that in New Zealand, many AEG customers found that they couldn't get AEG parts for machines after they were even 2-3 years old. As many people with AEG products will probably tell you if you ask them, calling up for AEG service is no fun and there's no gaurantee you'll actually get service.
The service guy that came to my house explained that he no idea about AEG machines or how to check it.
AEG-Electrolux appear to have long standing financial problems. Are they going out of business and haven't been honest about it with us? Do you have an AEG machine or shares in AEG?
I wonder Will AEG survive the financial crisis, so your warranty means anything? When many solid companies with good products and customer service are in trouble, how likely is it that we will avoid seeing AEG in bankruptcy.
