The good reviews are all clearly fake. Affordable Moving LTD (also Helping Hands Moving) is the worst moving company ever! Operating in several cities including Burnaby, White Rock, Kelowna, and probably more. My senior relative called in and asked for rates and was told she would get charged $110/hour. When they get there it’s now $130/hour, but she needed to move today so she signed a contract saying she would pay $130 an hour. FIVE HOURS INTO LOADING they inform us it will actually be $175/hour, and after arguing back and fourth my relative in a desperate situation just agreed to $175/hour. Now it’s the end of the day and we get the bill for $2200 for less than 8 hours of work! They refuse to unload her stuff and put a lock on their truck door until she pays in full. On top of holding her stuff hostage they were not efficient in any way and thus should have been a 5 hour job that turned into 7.5 hours and roughhoused everything damaging a few items. Disgusting business owner trying to take advantage of seniors.
The owners name is Prakash Lekhraj (Paul) and he also owns Helping Hand Movers, a storage company (where he will conveniently take your belongings to if you do not pay his inflated bill in full), and a few other businesses. He has done this to at least 10 other people who have contacted me! He has also not paid his employees and they can’t do anything because he gives them a fake address and they don’t have the information they need to file anything against him. OH YEAh, AND HE HAS A LENGTHY CRIMINAL RECORD WHICH YOU CAN GOOGLE

VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ON TIME
We used affordable moving they were very courteous and professional. They showed up on time and took impeccable care of our belongings. The owner Paul gave my family a senior discount and was a very polite young gentleman. They have an A rating with the better business bureau and also work with the government agencies since 2008 as I did my diligence prior to using them. I would recommend them to all my friends and family on our next one!

Paul (prakash) Lekhraj is a 50 year old criminal pedophile
Paul Lekhraj has been charged with pimping out a minor and also has assault and drug trafficking convictions to name a few. His residential Address is: 2102 4350 Beresford St. Burnaby, BC V5H 4K9. His yard where he keeps his trucks is at: 225 north road coquitlam.
His family live at The birch.unit 1704- 3771 bartlett court, burnaby.
He drives a large black pickup truck with the license plate LA1202. A large white truck with the license plate KK 8150 and a black Lamborghini with the letters ABC in the license plate.
Paul claims he is 30 years old but he's really 50.

Complained that his Craigslist ad is in the wrong category. He is avoiding the $25 advertising fee. In return I received dozens of threatening and disgusting emails including photos of his penis.

Dishonest and Unprofessional
We hired Affordable Movers BC to help us with a short move in Vancouver. Following the move we discovered that a file folder containing bank records, a credit card and $300 in cash had been stolen. When confronted the company owner Paul Lekhraj was very unprofessional, inconsiderate, rude and unwilling to help, the case is currently part of a police and credit card fraud investigation.
There have been several complaints lodged against this company and Paul himself regarding similar behavior, one is as follows on:
May 24, 2010 - Paul Lekhraj's answer to why he doesn't pay his employees and retain long-term staff: "If I don't pay you it won't affect your lifestyle anyway"
My advise would be to avoid this company at all costs, you WILL be ripped off and/or stoelen from, save yourself a lot of time, hassle and grief and go with a reputable moving company.
